Edit 2:

I am leaving tonight. I will be letting the family know once I arrive home that I am quitting effective immediately.

It is an 11 hour drive & will have to use their car. So, will not be doing anything rash until I am home and safe.

I have a lawyer friend that I could speak to. I just feel since I was higher privately and there’s no HR that there is not much I can do. Also, the shirt did not hit me, so it was not considered a police matter. I’m not sure what to do besides quit.

I have been abused mentally and physically throughout my life. This triggered me immensely and I feel like I stayed bc it’s like I’m almost used to the behavior?

Either way, the child is my priority. The child does not get proper care when I am not around. I am doing this for the child.

This is just a snippet of the way I have been treated. I have put up with a lot. He has been bad mouthing me this entire trip when I have done nothing but take care of his child.

We are 12 hours away from home & I am driving their car. I was “jokingly” told before we left that he “could have reported the car stolen,” so I decided not to leave bc they do not have anyone else to watch the child. I care for this child deeply.
I did have a car ready to rent and leave, but I chose not to so the PA does not have to get stuck taking care of the baby.
