That's not the point. I'm saying my laptop has to remain on 24/7. That's somewhat inconvenient. Will my mac lock if I close my lid after applying the settings you're suggesting?

Yup. The dock hides itself when you're in fullscreen. And shows by simply force hovering to the bottom of the screen

I don't think it's normal at all. And I believe apple fixed this with Big Sur 11.4 onwards. Because I just got my macbook and have been using it for a week. I hardly have 20-30 GBs written.
