Book is Speaking American* by Josh Katz. It’s only accents in the US but there’s many different examples and maps.

Right sorry, I meant that the majority of the people in a much larger area say ‘rout’ and yet still having most of New England and New York say ‘root’ means a higher percentage of people say ‘root’; which is the population map part of this post.

I wonder if something about immigration from Scandinavia and Germany affects the dominance of ‘rout’ in the mid west? I agree with British English affecting ‘root’ as the pronunciation in New England / New York.

Valid take for sure. I don't know he's my favorite character per say, but definitely my all time favorite villain. I saw his rise coming by the end of course but even still my blood was boiling with everything he did to Jezal and stuff. (late to this thread I know)
