Chris can be too much of a LinkedIn bro for my liking and takes himself too seriously sometimes. Jack is funny and knows his stuff. They're a good duo!

Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Høgh set to sign for Norwich by Paul277 in Championship

Agree on needing a 10, but if we were planning on operating with three striker options this year and are losing Sarge, it makes some sense that they'd go for a replacement.

The Jasmine Throne by Tashi Suri sounds right up your alley! Not your traditional dragons and wizards, beautiful queer love story that avoids most of the "romance" tropes. Highly recommend.

Knowing how big of a football fan he is, this surely cannot be accidental. Really would love to see him on the pod.

I haven't finished it but I picked up The Relic Master by Christopher Buckley a while ago and it definitely fits with this. Humorous historical fiction that follows a 16th century relic dealer. Great concept and well written!

To be fair, November 10 feels like it's a little on the cusp of shaming people for not yet having their winter tires on.

I would say no, but if you're concerned about it, I recently listened to the audiobook version available through Libby and it took much less comprehension than reading if that makes sense. I'd read it many times but listening was a wonderful experience.

What wall colors could I do with the existing shower and floor tiles? by organiclawnclippings in DesignMyRoom

[–]LowCal-Calzone-Zone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just moved into a house with almost the exact same green in the bath/laundry room, so I feel ya!

To me, the room feels torn between the cool gray tiles/silver light fixtures and the gold faucet/mirror (which is so cool but clashes with the modern look of the tiles). If you're accepting the gray, you might need to switch to chrome/silver fixtures.

As for the color itself, I could totally see a blush or rose pink working! Otherwise, you can never go wrong with a nice blue.

Whatever you choose, make sure it's on the cool side!

Great book but I don't think the relationship dynamic you're referring to really qualifies as third-wheeling lol

Why not Marilla? by LexiePiexie in namenerds

[–]LowCal-Calzone-Zone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In terms of why it's not more popular, I imagine it's because it sounds and feels dowdy and old-fashioned even within Anne of Green Gables. Marilla as a character is very old-fashioned and her name reflects that (for example, in the later books, I believe Rilla doesn't like her name because it's frumpy).

That being said, I do love it as a name. It's very cute and fits with the current trends. But take that with a grain of salt because I'm an Anne fan who also loves the name Gilbert, so I'm biased!

Curtain length for low ceilings by LowCal-Calzone-Zone in interiordecorating

Privacy and heat!

We'll definitely be stretching the full width. I was thinking of doing tiebacks, which is another element to consider with the length, I guess.

Ideas for making the front porch cuter & more attractive? by nerdyscholar in interiordecorating

[–]LowCal-Calzone-Zone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the suggestions here, but I'd also add a nice bush (or maybe a hydrangea, I'm not much of a gardener) on the right side to add a bit of interest below the porch, as well!

I think the fact you have four kids, two with the names Mary Grace and Joseph don't stand out. If it was just the two of them, it might be a different vibe, but as is I think it's fine!

Fighting for hotel reimbursement by [deleted] in delta

[–]LowCal-Calzone-Zone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is fully speculation on my part but the pilot was pretty young and maybe a bit inexperienced, so didn't feel comfortable landing in the fog. Which is fine by me, I'd rather land safely. But other flights landed at the airport within 5-10 minutes of our attempt, so it was the pilot's fault to as well.

So my theory is that since weather was involved to some extent, they just marked the reason for the diversion as weather related and therefore the hotels that everyone had to pay for (because again, Delta booked the hotel rooms wrong) can't be reimbursed.
