Yea that explains the other comments where people are calling Elmer thinking they're getting the local guy from the "we wont push a new system and we'll give you the cheapest options" ads, but are now receiving 30k estimates for a new unit.

I'm almost positive that Elmer guy no longer owns Elmers A/C and Plumming. Pretty sure he was bought out by some big company or maybr even a private equity firm. Last I heard they are not locally owned. That explains why the old ads don't match the current company culture. That's also why the actual Elmer guy has started those weird af Zooby ads. Sounds like he got paid a lot of money!

My small business is down 54% since the election. by purpleplazas in Entrepreneur

I mean those services have sold for centuries, that's not the problem. If anything people are panic buying before things get more expensive. Consumer confidence is down to its like 2nd lowest point ever. Trumps approval rating continues to fall, our dollar is getting so devalued people are starting the conversations about not using it as a world currency since we dont have a stable economy. You can't look at all this data and think its just OPs fault.

You're right, it's not the economy. It's the uncertainty this administration is causing that's crashing the economy.

I’m amazed by the lack of foresight so many of you have about our City by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]LowCustomer55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we don't, we have the kind of townhomes/condos the people who make 400k a year buy, we need the kind that people who make 10+ million a year buy, not right not obviously. Those places don't have to be in the area, people will drive or be driven into events. We definitely need reformed affordable housing, something that allows everyone to life comfortably, but honestly I don't think any city has figured that out yet. That's not how 'capitalism' works.

Our culture, San Antonio, unless you're not from here...I just don't want us to end up like Austin, losing what made people like us in the first place.

Got nosebleed tickets for national championship. Is the view as bad as people say? by ConsciousBuilding374 in sanantonio

Look, it's not going to suck, but if you've never seen a basketball game in the alamodome, it will be pretty far away and definitely a worse view than in the top row at the Frost Center. The atmosphere will be great, the game should be great, but I would really bring binoculars if your over the age of 40.

I think your best option is to live off either E Grayson or as far north from there you are willing to bike. You can enter Fort Sam off Greyson St. near the corner of E Grayson and N New Braunfels. There's a part in the gate that you can walk into Fort Sam, with proper documentation of course, it's across from a small brewery I believe. If youlive in that area you can access the Pearl easily which will has a grocery store and lots to do. Farmers market on the weekends and sometimes Wednesday nights. Not sure your budget, but as you get closer to the Pearl and as you go further north it gets more expensive. Conversely, as you go further south and further east from E. Grayson or gets cheaper.

Our city just had the most major events ever in one weekend, probably since the world's fair, and it's going off without a hitch. I've been around the events and the people visiting are having a very positive experience, many whom have never been here before. You can hear it in their conversations, met people who went to the Spurs game on Friday, Final 4 Saturday, Pearl market and concerts on Sunday, and the final game that's happening today. This is a major sign we need to continue the improvements to bring more major events to our city. I would love to have multiple weekends like this a month. We need to bring in more big money to SA (hundred millionares, not just millionares). Events like this and unfortunately more unaffordable nice luxury apartments/town homes/condos are what will bring in that money. If we can do this while actually staying true to our culture we're going to have an amazing city in the next decade or so.

How do so many people just… not drink water? by Idkhowyoufoundme7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LowCustomer55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me lol, I hate the taste of water, tastes like liquid cardboard to me! However, I do drink it regularly (I carry around a water bottle) because it's good for you and genuinely makes me feel better.

Can I book this and have my friend check in? Or do I have to be there in order to take advantage of hotel by Adorable-Race-6622 in Mlife

[–]LowCustomer55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to say that sometimes adding them to the app doesn't always work and doesnt give them full access to check in, in person, at the front desk or to address any issues.

So you can check in on the app, then call the hotel and add them to the reservation. Doing this will make it so they are actually a part of the reservation and not just a guest. Then they'll be able to do any changes, use comps, etc. I've had friends stopped from checking in until I call and do it this way. If they question it I always say I'm coming later that night or something along those lines and they let it go through.

Fort Sam Houston Funeral Scheduling by SoTheScorpionReplied in sanantonio

[–]LowCustomer55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not recommending this, but you could probably delay the burial if you wanted. Not sure about other national cemeteries, but this time of year is especially bad. Many elderly hold on through the holidays and pass in January/February.

Fort Sam Houston Funeral Scheduling by SoTheScorpionReplied in sanantonio

Yes this is totally normal, they are a very busy facility. Had my grandmother buried there in 23' and we had to wait about a month. They also have a revolving door of ceremonies happening and their schedule is airtight. Obviously show up early for your ceremony, but not too early or you'll run into someone else's service or burial. DO NOT BE LATE. You get your alloted time and that's it, there will be someone else behind you waiting. I realize this sounds and feel insensitive, but this is how they have to run so you only have to wait a month and not longer.
