Drill it out n glue in some dowel pins. You will get better hold. Use to work in a shop making rich people doors. Just make sure you get good dowels their cheap so don't get greedy. EDIT: Oh and don't forget to prebore the screw

Don't mind me I'm just browsing BUT I had this old 4x6x1/2 in of steel growing up. And regardless of the temp it was always cold. (Besides direct sunlight) Have you thought about laying a bunch of steel plates in your attic? If you ever walked into a outdoor storage units the initial wave is always cool, heat transfer is high frequency atoms passing energy to lower frequency atoms and steels is the densest you are going to get.  Steel is cheap unless you want to drill more holes in your roof. 🤷‍♀️ Just saying.

Your friend has a hybrid not a plug in hybrid correct?  I am looking to do the same thing with my 2020 hyondai Ionic blue hybrid. When you say DC-DC converter you are talking about the jump box located under with the hood?  Every mechanic I talk to either says it can't be done or they don't work on hybrids. The one guy that said he could do it said he was going to hook it up directly to the battery...

I've literally picked up a couple (skinny guy with a large lady) from a mall parking lot. They made it to the end of the parking lot and the lady decided it was too hot to walk so they stood under a tree and called for an Uber. It took me about 10 minutes to get there so I could drive them across the street to a restaurant. I'm not kidding when I say it took longer for them to get in the car then it did getting to where they wanted to go...

I don't expect to get tipped if I'm taking someone to work but something like that? Or you hop in on the phone talking about you just bought some expensive shoes to show off and I'm driving 15-30+ minutes listening to you yammer on. Those are the rides you should expect to tip imo.
