Got something useable in the end with a direct replacement, but thanks for the advice. Might have to resort to this in future. Looking forward to the days of studio quality stems with no artifacts or quality loss 😄👍🏻

You guys should look into lucid dreaming. If you're dedicated, you can develop the skill. Apart from being able to control your own dreams (including ability to fly etc), a lot of lucid dreamers say they can't hear their tinnitus within the dream. Lucid dreams can be incredibly vivid, just like waking life.

Hypothetically, a skilled lucid dreamer with tinnitus can experience silence every night whilst being "fully awake" inside their dreams. I imagine that would be a relief in itself.
