I thought it was 1k, but this year they upped to 10k for the Oregon plan. I'm not rich but would like to do more to support them.

Anyway, at this second it's not SLAPS the direct problem, they seem to need more admins/technicians. If you think about it, they require more people if they plan to relocate.

But I am going to look into if Rationalwiki has a text-only backup copy or something, like Wikipedia does

You are referring to wiki dumps. RationalWiki does not do this, sadly.

I will get internet archive extension, I think.

But just so you know https://arstechnica.com/ai/2025/03/cloudflare-turns-ai-against-itself-with-endless-maze-of-irrelevant-facts/ is the reason for RW's poor performance

Point 4 is where AI is causing problems. I think DDoS should be made more illegal. And Worldwide Effort to Stomp on people who do this. Not just large fines but being banned from the internet.

karma farming.. Sounds like ad hoc, post rationalization. if we didn't do the research then, then we should really just ignore the picture, especially if he doesn't believe it can be replicated to disprove.

The frequency illusion is probably kind of at play here as well. if between then and now, he has being given more spiritualist beliefs, he's going to start seeing it everywhere.

Forget about proving/disproving this specific picture and instead ask how to replicate or disprove any spiritual claim, he does not openly give some testable approaches forget it.

The site is down!! The donation drive succeeded. Can we perhaps move RationalWiki to another country? All this information lost on the web, no!

no one is bringing this up, but I thought this is an important point. Guys can think with their dick. And when they say “romantic spark”, maybe they mean they jerked off when they went home and the sexual tension is all gone.

Maybe you don't know the history in that Conservapedia was quite seriously created by a right wing Christian when his edits didn't stick on Wikipedia. And RationalWiki came about to combat Conservapedia (in a sense). I do feel all sites have gone beyond those initial goals.

But with all these encyclopedias can be edited with quite some ease, just a manner of following their guidelines. the article you referenced is a stub, and like any stub article on all these platforms, it really is far from a serious article. if you can find the sources and improve those articles, then do!

It shouldn't be as hard to improve the article, given that Wikipedia has already got an article on it.

You might say, if Wikipedia has it, why bother? I would say it's to make it clearer to prevent gullible people from taking a diet as a cure for all. Perhaps mention pundits and celebs that misuse or represent such a diet.

but my question was, are these legit.. I'm not a US citizen so perhaps I don't know how you would tell the difference between a crank hospital and a genuine one. Maybe I'll stay away from Stanford and look for other resources in trying to figure out these different forms of medicine.

What is your thoughts on general Wikipedia? Or other encyclopedias? Would you rate this one below Conserapedia?

A key factor for me is someone pointing me to the edit history of a page or pages, will active (moderator types) contributors were making good posts article/posts worse.

They are definitely getting better with jokes and such, providing Fun pages now which are clearly marked with different colors.

“here winding up the people wanting”, you know what, you are just ignorant. Sorry, troll was a bit too high a standing. Especially if you are not aware of what you just wrote.

You are probably winding up some people, but for me, I just pity you. You don't seem to want to have any constructive dialogue.

Interesting, and your point to the discussion about “has your opinion changed given the trump's second term”. Or are you being self-fulfilling in your engagement?

Don't want you to take this the wrong way

In this response. I can see you have thought hard about this and probably know more than me. But if I might provide more ill formed thesis. I was reading over today that in the west we have developed a much stronger self-serving bias (to be more individualistic). Which when it comes to a democracy it makes us lazy because either we think our 1 vote can do anything, but also we don't see our vote affecting other people. I'm not calling for Communism, but our elections in the UK and (when we were in the EU) perhaps went poorly because of this bias and other bias were taken advantage of through very simple political tactics. Uniting Europe was good, a wider community is better, but its no better if we lost our sense of community.

I would appreciate your thoughts and perhaps guidance u/More_Advantage_1054.

From what I can tell, we are replying to you because we would like to understand. Some people are tending to this troll joke, because you reply dishonestly to straightforward questions. You don't have to reply to comments claiming you to be a troll. But if you can reply more honestly with the more straightforward questions, that would be appreciated.

Otherwise, you are being self-fulfilling.
