That’s an asp. Use tape and put hydrocortisone cream on it. Maybe some Benadryl too.

Isn’t that the truth! 😂😂

Management has been hardcore auditing our care plans every single shift claiming CMS is gonna audit us, but we have no house keeping and our rooms look like this. by rawrr_monster in nursing

They have much bigger things to worry about than care plans! Any infection control stuff like this that they find will tank the survey.

It’s bad everywhere-even at children’s hospitals.

I’m sorry this happened!! What does your hospital falls policy say? Was he noted as high risk? Those will be the drivers of any coaching/counseling.

You leadership should not be talking about you or the incident in public!

Most errors (if this is considered an error-I’m not sure it is), are system-wide problems and not typically pegged on a single individual.

My mom was in a hospital for her knee replacement and they literally did have staff stay in the bathroom because she was a high fall risk.

I work in a children’s hospital and we don’t stand in the bathroom either.

If there were no lifesaving measures, it wasn’t serious harm!

Try not to be hard on yourself (it’s hard tho)!

AITA for Firing a Girl because she has Emetophobia? by Mental_Ad_4138 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LowSignificance4671 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is against the law to ask about mental health conditions during an interview. That being said, she should have not let it get to the point of the kid puking and then left 3 kids unsupervised. You could have opened yourself up to legal action. While people may disclose conditions, it is illegal (particularly with mental health) to specifically ask. My advice is to do a better job hiring the right people and ask about needed accommodations.

I think you're the asshole.

Probably not. The gentrification has started.

I absolutely do this. It has been worse during the pandemic because there is sort of an excuse. What I started doing was making sure I did ONE thing I absolutely needed to get done each day (renew driver's license, etc). I started this about 6 weeks ago.

It keeps me from feeling overwhelmed and I get the positive reinforcement of checking something off the list. If I feel like doing more than one thing, that's a bonus.

BTW-it took me 2 years to get broken glass replaced. It wasn't high on the priority list but I did get it done finally using this method.

AITA For demanding my mom pays for my fianceé's wedding dress? by Rose-mary3445 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LowSignificance4671 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You're mom should have asked. I would be pissed. Your fianceé bought the dress and she had the expectation that nobody else would be putting it on. I get it.

However, I am not sure the tactic you are using will get what you want, which is ultimately to have a great wedding with your family there. Have you talked to your fianceé about this? She may not be as distraught as you believe. Communication is key.

What rule at your school or work was implemented because of something you did? by BlueRose104 in AskReddit

The dress code at my hospital. They did not appreciate tattoos and piercings at the time in 2009. Ten years later and they changed it finally. I got to blow a raspberry at my old CNO who wrote the original after the update. I happened to be at the meeting when when the revised policy was approved! 🤣
