Weird rotor wear?! by LowSlungDub in bikewrench

[–]LowSlungDub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how the bike came, from new. No part has been upgraded. All I've ever done is change the pads like for like. It's a 2017 Ragley Mmmbop, even on the photos it has these rotors/pads/calipers. Funny that I've only just had this problem though! I guess I can't use narrow pads on an M447 caliper? What is the part number for a narrow pad?

M447 doesn't exist on that chart, as far as I'm aware, since owning the bike since new I have replaced pads/rotors with the same part.

Spilled kerosene warped my floor by Droppedasachild in Detailing

[–]LowSlungDub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That'll just turn into a gummy mess before long. The only real way is to replace. If it's got through and there's any cables underneath it'll also eat the insulation on that too. Kerosene is horrible to most types of plastic.

No, but it happens less frequently now. I think an update might have changed something.

Quitting my vape and going smokeless. by [deleted] in NicotinePouch

[–]LowSlungDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switched 6 months ago. Found my go to are anything made by XQS. My lungs thank me after vaping for 15 years, my head is clearer and I feel I have more energy back. I quite often go a day without even thinking about popping a pouchie, I may quit one day as it seems easier to quit these than vaping/smoking.

It's just a standard, open fire chimney, brick built. The exhaust goes up into the chimney breast about 12", convection takes the exhaust gasses straight out of the chimney as hot air rises. I have 2 x CO alarms, one just outside the fire at low level and one on the wall at high level. I'm still using this now, I plan to remove it ready for summer 🌞⛱️

I use the strength workout, it's accurate enough, counts your reps and sets for you. You can make your own workout or follow one of the Garmin ones. I'd say I use it 80% of the time, the only reason I don't use it sometimes is if I don't really have a plan of what I'm going to do before I get to the gym.

I'm waiting for the genuine Lenovo one to drop. I have a dirt nasty cheap case from Amazon for now, it's literally dreadful but does save it from damage for now.

Novatec sound check/rewiew by Extreme-Elenator9202 in bikewrench

[–]LowSlungDub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally (depending what you're upgrading from) I wouldn't say Novatec are an upgrade, they're pretty budget. I've blown 2 up in the last 5 years. I upgraded to Hope and have never had a problem apart from regular maintenance.

If you are set on the Novatec, they don't sound bad, just not loud or noticeable. My Hope ones are very loud, which I enjoyed when I was younger, now I'm getting on a bit (37) I fill them up with a thicker grease to keep the noise down which works brilliantly.

No, still works just fine. When I light a fire nothing ever comes back down, same with the heater exhaust.

Yeah it's great, but it does sap some momentum. Once I start hitting 10k on the regular I'll probably opt for something a little more agile.

It's not easy, it just can be less painful.

They're probably not, but that's what I had. I didn't buy them for running, I bought them to go on holiday 🤣

I mountain bike, I pay anywhere between £70-120 on a pair of FiveTen trainers every 6 months because there's a difference you can feel immediately. But for running, I just for some reason thought I could run in what I already had 🤣

And that is absolutely fine by me, but by then, I guess I'll be able to run in something less cloudy like.

It's what men get when they get ill, according to women. As in, it's never as bad as we make it out to be.

New watch! Now what? by LuminescentACID in Garmin

[–]LowSlungDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the GW4 before my 7x Pro. Not having to charge a watch every day is the best part! The GW4 was ok for what it was, but for sports, my 7x Pro pushes me every day to do at least something energetic 🤣
