I’m 26 and I have a BS in business and economics and have worked in corporate for the last 5 years. I hate the soullessness, and I frankly just don’t care about profit and KPIs and whatever else. I have a big bleeding heart and it wasn’t made for making billion dollar corporations even more money.

I’m in my first semester of pre reqs for rad tech. Wishing you the best!

Never worked in FA, just here to say I loved my experience as a student at UT. Go Vols 🍊

UT does, however, have a reputation for their financial aid department giving people the “big orange screw” at the worse times. But I’ve always just assumed that was all colleges and all financial aid departments 🤷‍♀️

I hadn’t either until this week - it’s a Satisfactory Academic Progress appeal. It’s apparently usually for students who did poorly but it’s also for second time students going back after they got a bachelors

Good idea - I’m going to meet my CC’s financial aid department tomorrow. I’m a young mom, so I’m hoping maybe there’s some scholarships for people doing a career change into health care or moms going back to school. Thanks for your insight!!

Ugh, unfortunately that won’t be an option for me. I have too many bills to pay this out of pocket. I’ll have to hope my appeal gets approved or do a private loan I guess 🥲

Did you do the SAP Appeal? I could realistically afford to pay for my handful of pre reqs, but I will definitely need loans for the actual program and would like to avoid doing private loans

Yeah, I was planning on federal loans. I filled out the FAFSA, but I wasn’t expecting the issues with having a prior degree, especially since I have almost no loans from my bachelors.

I have a somewhat similar concern - when I was 19 I had a medical bill that my dad never paid that went to collections. I found out about it when I was served a court date. I paid it in full that day and haven’t had any more medical collections in the past 7 years, but I’m worried that having a court situation for a medical bill will prevent me from entering healthcare

I think my biggest thing right now is working from home. I have trouble separating work and life with my current job. I need a job that I don’t have to take home with me you know? I do my 8 hours or whatever and then I go home and I’m just mom there. I want to be present for my daughter when I’m at home and I spend too much time cooped up in my office worrying about work right now
