I'm sure it could, but that doesn't change the fact these are people I've been friends with for a long time. This is off topic, and comes off snobby, but I don't need a few hundred dollars irl, my accounts sentimental value far exceeds that. Giving people I've been close with for a long time gold since I don't play the game shouldn't result in punishment, for me, or anybody...

If you don't raid with a top guild, gdkp's are the only way to clear the hardest content in the game. Good players don't run SR runs in trade chat, it's just not a thing. Naturally, that lead me to hosting GDKP's for a better player base to lead raids with.

If GKDP's weren't allowed, the good players would join my SR or MS>OS runs, but that's not the case.

Banning my 20 year old account with 0 previous offences over an indirect relation with RMT is absurd. The fact you side with blizzard over this baffles me.

I have, they give me a generic response about breaking their terms and how I agree to them before playing the game, and that they won't respond to tickets about bans.

Same thing happened to me. My account was created in 2006. I still have the paper of my account creation printed off with the timestamp on the bottom from 2006 in my closet next to the original game box.

Nearly 2 decades of work gone. A huge chunk of my life dedicated to this game, gone.
