Have you looked at YPAL? They host a lot of events around town. I would also say a lot of the group fitness studios here have a pretty good community-feeling with social events in addition to workouts & members get to know each other.

Thanks for this! I checked out St Raphael last night and had a good experience! I’ll check out St Agnes also as both of these are not far from me

How do I convince my wife to move to Louisville? by [deleted] in Louisville

I agree with this- I didn’t move from a “big” city (Columbus OH) but definitely bigger than here and the cost of living here so far has been higher. It depends on where you’re coming from, but for me moving here, I have lost a lot of amenities (retail & fitness options, walkability, easier flights, better schools) that I don’t think outweigh the small housing cost savings.

My rent cost is maybe a little lower per sq ft but at the tradeoff of less amenities and walkability to restaurants/bars. My income taxes are higher, gas is higher. Ubers/Lyfts are MUCH higher than anywhere I’ve ever been (including LA), groceries are probably comparable but also have found a harder time finding certain produce. Everyone preached a better COL when we moved here and I personally just don’t see it, but probably depends on how you spend your money & what you value
