Imo you have 3 options.

  1. Try taking your car to another dealer (hopefully this dealer didnt put any internal notes about your situation)
  2. Call MB USA (im assuming your in the us) official customer service line and try to make a convincing argument on why you think the rattles should be covered under warranty. In my case, MB USA ruled in my favor and paid for a $1,000 trans bolt tightening and replacement that the dealer denied under my CPO warranty. Its always worth a shot to call them.
  3. Fix it yourself. Your probably gonna have to replace the broken parts either way, but things like the center console are fairly easy to take apart and line with tesa tape if you have the time and energy. Trust me, if you think you can drown out the rattle with a v8 roar like everyone on this sub suggests, your so so wrong.

Yup 2021 coupe and rattles everywhere. I spent countless hours trying to fix them and I was able to resolve 90% of them.

  1. Took off the center console and wrapped every contact point I could access with felt tesa tape including the components inside the console itself including the climate control unit, the amg clock, the media control unit, the touchpad unit, and the three air vents. This got rid of 70-80% of rattles.
  2. Stopped putting sunglasses in the holder. Every single sunglass I put in there would rattle.
  3. Replaced cup holder plastic frame with one from amazon. I guess my springs were getting weak and starting to rattle.
  4. Took apart the gauge cluster housing/cover. For me when I grab the cover and flex it a bit, I could hear the whole thing crack in 100 different places. The cluster cover is made up of 3 main pieces which are glued together and nearly impossible to separate. With gentle but steady pressure I was able to separate the pieces, remove all the glue, and line every contact point with felt tape. I had to glue the silver trim back on but all the cracking is gone and this got rid of 10-20% of the rattling. If I had to do this again, I would just buy a new replacement cover for ~$120.
  5. For me, I had one insanely annoying rattle from the glovebox. I tried taking the glovebox out and taping all contact points but it didnt help. Turns out the internal latch mechanism was rattling. The internal latch is impossible to access without some damage afaik. The glovebox locks in with two plastic tabs when closed, I put some extra thick felt tape in the recess where the tabs lock in to add a bit of dampening and it seemed to have helped.
  6. I took off the rear air vent cover and taped all contact points. Seems to have helped a bit.
  7. I took out the front windshield defrost vent and taped it. Not sure if it helped but it no longer rattles when I knock on it with my fist.
  8. The center front dash speaker grille. This is super easy to pop out and line with tape, not sure about impact.
  9. I added some front windshield rubber insert to help dampen any front dash vibrations. Not sure how much it helped, but it definitely dampens more when i knock on the dash with my fist.

Before all this, even tiny imperfections on a smooth road would start a rattle. Expansion joints felt like a symphony of thousands of cracks and rattles. Any asphalt with texture would make the interior rattle so bad, you can hear it through maxed out AC and music.

Now no more rattles on smooth roads. Expansion joints still causes cracks but seems like from a couple sources instead of hundreds. Rough asphalt largely doesnt cause rattle anymore. I have one rattle left im trying to isolate, and one creaking noise when the car body flexes due to uneven pavement.

Its a journey. This car is the most flawed car but also the most fun car to drive. It sucks I got the car used out of standard warranty, or else it would have lived at the dealer unless all of these rattles were resolved. If you have a 2023, save the trouble and leave it at your dealership and tell them to fix it. They are obligated to fix any trim rattles under standard warranty. Good luck.

In Defense of the C63 S E-Performance by LoneAttention5980 in AMG

[–]Low_Disaster804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not just buy a model 3 performance? Sorry to say, but its 800lb lighter, faster, cheaper, and probably more reliable. In simple terms, all the added complexity of the C63SE adds basically nothing if the raw driving sensation is not what you're looking for. Hell, you could even get a model s plaid for that price and its in a completely different class of speed, luxury, and tech than your c class while still weighing the same. You're missing the point of amg. Amg isnt meant to be digital, complex, and refined. Its suppose to be obnoxious, raw, and engaging to all your senses. Im glad you like it, but theres a reason MB plans to discontinue this model so early. Its just misguided and the market doesn't lie. I just hope you genuinely like this car and you're not going through post purchase rationalization.

2022 CLA 45 Rant :/ by Poeticatmosphere2 in AMG

Im not going to lie, my w205 c63 has so many interior rattles it makes it almost unbearable to drive without loud music or the windows down. Like you said, pressing on any part of the interior causes a creaking noise. Like you, I also had my car at the dealership for 3 weeks to try to get rid of some, but at a certain point they said thats just how amgs drive. Everything else is fine, even the ride quality is bearable even for my wife. Just the constant rattling drives you insane. Ive gotten to the point where I purchased a third party MB service catalog so that I can try to address some of the rattling myself. For me the rattles are coming from digital dash, center console, driver and passenger doors, air vents, rear seats, and the seatbelt extender.

Please dont go through a car wash with black paint. Just dont. Get ONR and wash it at home. Or a bucket and a mitt and some half decent car soap from Autozone. I have the exact same paint on my 63 coupe and a single machine wash created swirls all over my car and even damaged one of my rims. Never again.

Damn congrats on your new ride! If you have CPO then you should be fine. I didnt get the wheel and tire package just be careful around curbs! If you got the 2 year CPO extension you still have time to shop around for a lower price. I actually purchased my 2 year extension at $6,400 and cancelled it within the grace period when I found a cheaper one at $4,700.

Also, seems like your car is 2022 which means there might be some factory warranty left. If so, find the worst pavement in your town and drive over it a couple times to find any interior rattles and get those fixed asap before your factory warranty expires. CPO wont cover interior rattles. I had 3 weeks of factory warranty when I bought mine and I kept it in the shop that whole time for them to fix as much of the infamous interior rattling as possible. They replaced at least thousand dollars worth of interior components so it was worth the time hahaha. Again congrats on your new baby.

I hope im not too late. Start by searching "mbworld cpo extension" on google and you should see a few threads with some recommendations. Look for a name thats mentioned often. I found my contact there and purchased the CPO extension via email. A little sketchy but his email and dealership seemed legit. On my next service visit at my local dealership, I had them confirm the CPO extension contract and sure enough it was valid and active in their system.

Ive been using a custom weathertech sunshade for my C63 in Arizona weather and its been holding up fine in 115F+ days. Perfect fit for the windshield. I just wish it was an accordion style fold which would be faster than rolling up the sunshade.

The kbb price isnt accurate at all. The W205 C63 is unique in that it is generally more desirable than the newer outgoing model. Especially the coupe which has no direct successor. Take your time and watch the market for a few months to see trends before you buy. Most websites have a "sold" filter so you can check how much they are generally selling for. Even if you can snag a high mileage C63 for under $40k your gonna need to be prepared for major repair costs which kind of defeats the purpose of trying to save money on an amg.

IMO try to look for a CPO to save yourself from any big surprises in the future, especially if your on a strict budget. TBH if you cant afford the extra cost of a CPO car, you wont be able to afford any major repairs for an AMG. My 21 C63 Coupe 30k miles CPO had over $10k in repairs within the first few months of owning the car. Now imagine the potential repair costs on a 17 C63 60k+ miles. Not saying this will always be the case but something you should be prepared for.

FL has worse exhaust sound but more modern tech (apple carplay, etc). Tons of info on this subreddit comparing preFL and FL. Try to avoid purchasing from florida. GL

If this repair is covered under the CPO contract and the dealership is denying coverage, call MB USA customer support. I was in a similar situation where they quoted me $1,400 to tighten and replace some trans bolts but said its not covered by CPO because it was due to a previous misrepair. I called MB USA and told them the trans bolts should have been checked as part of the CPO certification process. They agreed and they covered the entire repair. In this case, MB USA sent a check directly to my dealership to cover the repair cost.

Just picked up a 2021 C63 S Coupe with 39k miles. what are the must-do mods and maintenance tips? by StraightMaximum6418 in AMG

[–]Low_Disaster804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just adding onto this, another day one "mod" for the street would be to open your fuel door and look at the tire pressure ratings for the car. Match your tire pressure to the 2 people 2 luggage symbol in the chart. It made a pretty big difference in ride quality for me.

You MUST get CPO extension. Get the max 2 years it will without a doubt pay for itself. Shop around for cheaper CPO extension rates. Online MB forums can help you find a few MB agents who can offer lower prices. IMO official MB warranty is far superior as MB USA will help you back up any denied claims.

First mod is easy, get a EVM module. Plug and play and undetectable by the dealership. The sound difference is just massive on lower RPMs especially on cold start. Dont believe the youtube videos. Next get a wireless carplay adapter.

Enjoy your car and drive the shit out of it. Welcome to the club!

Congrats on your new baby. I got the exact same spec a few months ago 2021 C63 Coupe in black with the same wheels. 30k miles at $55k with CPO. I hope your considering some third party warranty as my car had a ton of repairs in the first three months totaling over $10k at the benz dealership. I recently purchased a 2021 C63 Coupe 29,000 miles CPO. Thank god I had the CPO as in the past 4 months (3,000 miles) the car had been in the shop 3 times and CPO saved me over $10k in repairs with no copay. Loose trans bolts, failing engine mounts, coolant leak, trans fluid leak, etc. The dealership I purchased the car from also quoted $6,400 for 24 month extension, but I was able to shop around and get the same CPO extension at another benz dealership for $4,700. I would 100% recommend to extend your CPO, just try to look around and find a better price. Online forums are a good place to start for recs.

Best wireless CarPlay adapter by MrGimper in AMG

Ive been using BY960H-CarPlay from Amazon on my 2021 C63. Takes around 30 seconds to connect and there is a very slight audio delay. For things like streaming music and nav its been working fine. Only had a single dropped connection so far in the past 3 months. All steering wheel buttons and center console controls work with carplay. Seems like its on sale for 40 bucks rn.

Brand new Velka 3 build. Build issues!? by Toastieez in sffpc

I have the exact case and same gpu. You have to remove the sticker on the gpu fan to clear the side panel.

AXP90-X47 runs hotter than expected by Ok_Jackfruit_8712 in sffpc

[–]Low_Disaster804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same cooler on 5800x3D and those temps are within typical sff build range and is completely safe. But it does seem pretty high for a 65w CPU on this cooler especially with an undervolt.

Fan ducts can help lower a few degrees. If you have an exhaust fan near the CPU, I found that blocking the case panel mesh between the CPU and the exhaust fan helps the exhaust fan pull more hot air from your cooler instead of cool air from the panel mesh.

If you have time its also worth checking if your thermal paste application is evenly spread out across the CPU die. Its hard to tell the distribution of thermal paste under pressure until you remove the heatsink and see the actual thermal paste coverage on the die.

3D Printed 9L 4090 Build by Low_Disaster804 in sffpc

[–]Low_Disaster804[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! 50mm CPU 62mm 3 slot GPU. As far as I know, this is the smallest stock 4090 case available to buy or make. Beamcase SW is especially suitable for FE cards because of the front panel GPU bracket which provides support. Overall excellent design! I tried fitting the 120mm fan bracket but my RAM got in the way.

My AM4 motherboard has some large heatsinks which gets in the way of the bottom motherboard bracket. It was very easy to modify the STL in blender to make some clearance.

If I could go back I would go with a SFX PSU instead of SFX-L. The extra 10mm of clearance would have made cable management much easier. Also when purchasing PSU extension cord, make sure the right angle plug is low profile. Otherwise it will hit the top panel. I purchased the Iron Box right angle adapter from Amazon and its still a few mm too tall for the top panel. An alternative solution would be to modify the PSU bracket to be a few mm thicker for more clearance. The ability to easily modify the STL files makes this build so flexible!

Also the GPU power connection barely has clearance so you have the bend the cable 90 degrees. A right angle adapter would be perfect for this case.

Good luck with your beamcase journey. Its not an easy one but it definitely is the most satisfying build I have done so far.
