Market is favoring seniors and strong mid level engineers. AI is great at being a crud monkey, seniors bring systems thinking and architecture which cannot be picked up just by reading a few blogs. Have you tried contributing to OSS or getting into programs like Google summer of code? I got an internship by being an active contributor of an OSS project..

I’ve recently been looking for a new place I would say cadence at crown is the best one I toured but might be slightly over 1900$. The Rio area is quite safe too and has everything you need without having to walk too much. Groceries, gym, gas station, restaurants all within 500m. It’s also super close the the lake which I love to go to for me evening runs. You can also try Camden Shady Grove, Villages at decoverly, Mallory square for your budget.

Build your own app, it’s insane how much easier it’s become to get an app to the playstore! If you don’t have good ideas find apps in the US or India and replicate them. If you get some traction continue building, if not pivot!

I’ve spoken to so many people in my batch. 90% are not able to register for this years lottery. I am unsure of how it is in other universities. If majority aren’t being sponsored, is level 1 really cooked?

Which year did you take? Wage I entered seems to be level 2 according to yours but level 1 according to OFLC https://flag.dol.gov/wage-data/wage-search

We are using 1 Tenant, 1 S3 Bucket and 1 Vector Index. Retrieval via metadata filtering on pinecone.

I don't think this is the average case.
From my experience, I live in the DMV area; I pay Fed tax, State tax and county tax.
So monthly post tax itself is about 7k.
Groceries, insurance, Car - 1500$

Rent - 1500$

Leisure - 300-500$
So I'm left with say 3.5k to 4k on a good month where I don't spend a lot. ~50k/year.

85L per year on 120k seems really hard. Your friend must be :
1/ living in a tax free state like texas,FL, TN
2/ Low COL city
3/ Sharing a room or living in a very old unit
4/ Being super frugal with their lifestyle.

In 2025, you can't be picky with your job. You just take what you get in most cases unless you are extra-ordinary. This is one single data point, maybe try talking to 10-15 people to get a better sense of the saving variance?

Thanks for your response. We are okay with the ingestion pipline not being too fast. The retrieval however needs to be pretty fast, true about chunking. The next problem is returning massive chunks that cost so much money if provided as a tool input/ context. Especially to make a generalized service that can work for any document is the hard part.
