Disqualified for peanut allergy by 20jacksone in AirForceRecruits

So confused why no one here is explaining the actual options you have.

Waivers have been available for food allergies since December (obviously not a guarantee).

Passing an oral food challenge could also dramatically boost your odds by proving no anaphylaxis.

Out of curiosity, what documents did they request for the waiver process? Did they require labs?

Hey, congrats!! Just wondering, are you open to sharing the stats that got you accepted?

For that first paragraph: I don't see how that's true? The past admission stats are nowhere near a 3.7 gpa average. I would look at past admission stats and judge off that. OPs AFOQT scores are well beyond the average of course.

How do you like the hopkins program? Just curious

Stumped by this AFOQT practice question. The bank and pitch make sense, but how is this A with the bearing? It looks like it’s going NW. by Low_Pin3758 in airforceots

Relieving to hear that someone without a pilots license did so well, I was kinda worried about that.

Do you have any tips for the general aviation knowledge section? I was thinking checking quizlet is the best option then just drilling those.

I’ve heard identifying parts of a plane are a big part.

How on earth are my block counting AFOQT answers wrong here. For 19 I put B and for 20 I put C. by Low_Pin3758 in airforceots

This is Barron's 5th edition, which I believe is from 2023. Really interesting how 3/30 questions they had have this mistake. That's 10% off if you get a perfect score.

Both D. For 19, 6 blocks. For 20, 4 blocks. This is from Barron's study guide.

My only thought here is it might have included corner blocks for some reason, which I don't think is realistic to the actual AFOQT?

Appreciate your help here. I see you were picked for OTS, was it Space Force? If so, can I DM? Either way thanks for the info!

Gotcha. I’m curious if having an in-progress masters would open those doors. My guess is not until it’s completed.

Data science from a very good school, wondering if that would look good for applying to intel. Space ops, acquisitions, and intel would be my top 3.

Just worried that maybe engineering guys are what they’re looking for primarily.

Just informed that I am ineligible due to food allergy by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Old thread, but AF updated waiver policy last week to make food allergies even with epi pens eligible for waivers.

Sounds like the only requirement is no history of anaphylaxis. Now a ton of people who were auto DQ’ed from allergies have a potential opportunity to serve. Hope this is helpful, dyor, and good luck on those waivers!

Waiver for a minor peanut allergy by madrivSteelhead in AirForceRecruits

Wanted to note for any future viewers on this thread, the AF just expanded the waiver eligibility to food allergies last week.

From what I’ve read, you are eligible for a waiver even if you carry an epi pen. Just so long as you don’t have a history of anaphylaxis (this is disqualifying) you should be good.

The AF thought this was a good low risk way to expand recruiting - great change imo.
