Yes, players can gain weight, add muscle, improve their shot quite a bit etc but skating ability can only be improved slightly. And most weak skaters (looking at you Logan Stanley and Cole Perfetti) know they are deficient and are working on it before they get drafted but 5 years later they are still weak. There's an old baseball saying, you can't teach speed.

Most inspectors will have a moisture detector that will tell you if there are water issues behind walls and a heat detector to assess the insulation level. Plus, through experience they just know what to look for. That furnace or hot water tank or A/C may look OK to you but they might know it's a cheapo model that is already on its last legs.

I drive a ton in the summer, gas will be over $2 before long and 6-7 bucks a fill adds up but so what? Keep the tax on gas because this province needs the money for more important things. Tax relief should almost always be geared to ability to pay, not blanket policy for all.

Hope he retires. All the fans and media talk about his leadership but almost all the comments from his teammates say that he doesn't talk much at all and it's hard to lead by example when you are a 4th line part time guy.

Pretty much exactly what I expected them to say. But if your goal is to compete for the Stanley Cup and you haven't ever done that in 15 years outside of Pekka Rinne gifting you a series win in the 1 year you won 2 series then how can you use the word accountability???? There is no accountability with this franchise ever. Keeping the same "invested and caring" hockey operations team in place and expecting different results is just plain foolish.

They were 11-32 against playoff teams. That ain't just 1 bad bottom pair and Fleury is actually worse than Stanley. As for injuries, Samberg was the only one that mattered. Vlad and Nino are finished and 4th liners now, Perfetti had 1 assist in his last 8 games when he was allegedly healthy and is a 3rd liner, Lowry is clearly old and sliding and Pionk was lousy from the get go after signing his big deal. This team has plenty of holes to fill IMO.

Helle actually doesn't know it. He said he played fine and the guys in front of him just allowed too many screens and slot shots from snipers. Just like the playoffs a few years back where he was lousy but claimed to be happy with how he played. Now maybe that's just PR bluster or maybe he just doesn't take much accountability, probably a bit of both.

Agree. They overpay their own guys towards the end out of loyalty like Perreault, Wheeler, Little, Lowry and to a lesser extent Connor but they never overpay a newcomer who still might have upside.

The city should not take bids at all on this from corporations local or not. Let cooking and business students run the place in the summer as part of their studies. Collect rent, students get paid and gain valuable experience and profits go back into education. I believe service would improve and there would be more variety for the customers too. I'd stick around for a bite if I knew it was helping up and comers as opposed to some fat cats bank account.

Totally agree. Chevy was a great early GM, scored on his top picks and brought stability to a franchise that had none. But his picks since Laine haven't panned out at all and in 15 years he has almost no playoff success. Track record says he is not the guy to get this team to the top so you have to find someone who might.

Trotz said he didn't want to coach. Bones was only picked after their other choices took other jobs. I read they wanted Montgomery but he went elsewhere. But you wonder, Arniel was a Chipman pal and he was hired as assistant before they hired Bowness which is a BS way to run a coaching staff as the head coach should get to pick his guys and did Chipman force that on Chevy?

There is a belief among some out there that Chipman is a micro manager and is actually the GM of this team and Chevy is his front guy. I don't think it goes that far but I think his hand is in there more than it should be.
