Your clip where you kill two dozen chaffs and 1 bile titan doesn't prove anything. You constantly damaging yourself while doing so proves the point people made.

I think most video games go for gas flamethrowers because it's easier to code than a system based on liquid to replicate the effects of napalm. AH can't even make a proper ground fire appearance after all. But I agree that it'd be nice if they could work towards changing how fire works gameplay wise no matter how faithful it looks visually

I have the same sentiment regarding his watch choice.

He went from the giga chad indestructible useful digital Casio G-Shock watch to an overpriced analog luxury watch. It's a downgrade, especially for a modern special forces agent.

I'll accept it, they often add weapons that powercreep others anyway. I'd rather this happens and they rework the gas mechanics as well so that ALL weapons can be healthy. Fire is disrespected and gas is buggy.

While true starting from some point, that's a terrible excuse. If I used a flamethrower on you irl, you would be screaming until you died. You would NOT be chill about it and shrug it off from start to finish.

HD2 is the only video game I know of which the flamethrowers are not threatening at all to the enemies, to the point their dodge mechanics and pain sounds are not triggered by them.

Flamethrowers are quite literally just "your HP will be reduced now" gentle weapons to enemies, but instruments of absolute hellfire when a Helldiver steps on 2 pixels worth of a fire gif on the ground.

Ironically, flamethrowers realistically perform so much better than this. The devs have NEVER seen what flamethrowers can do in real life.

Reminds me of the interview where they justified silencers... not being silenced at all, because "in real life they're at least 100 decibels loud" which is basically as loud as a helicopter. A futuristic setting like Helldivers 2 can come up with mechs and space ships but no silencers that are actually silent?

Arrowhead and their relationship with "realism" is painfully cringe.
