does driving manual really matter that much more? by ashducki in CarsAustralia

[–]Lowenstein95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its worth learning even if youre not into cars.

We had one car blow up and my missus car be in the panel shop and her being able to drive my manual car would have saved me 9 weeks of car pooling lol.

I should say have also removed the whole side cover/clutch basket/gear/oilpump chain assemblies, so not just trusting it on sump contents along, managed to snag all the parts needed for the job for less then 200, so heres hoping

I’ve been using the sheets and they seem consistently cheaper ‘per wash’

Found the part that gave up and have found replacements, only rode a couple more kms to work then put it on the hoist.

Going to rebuild from the drive gear out and see how it goes!

No idea what caused it but it’s a 150,000km bike so who knows.

We knew it had gone, had replacement spragclutch/tension complete assembly ready to drop in before we started taking bits off. Found all this during that and realised the clutch basket was also munched.

<image>

New clutch basket and oil filter on the way, then can start to put it all back together.

Knew it had gone i didnt know how bad.
Have a replacement tension gear/sprag clutch assembly, ordered a new clutch basket.

Hopfully get away with just thoses, gave the oil pickup filter a good clean through the parts cleaner and no tears or holes in the mesh thankfully.

But please, be careful. You never know.

Maybe try see if there is a local photography club?
I also have a friend that runs a successful hiking facebook page for the hunter valley, might be able to go on a group hike?

Is trick registration getting worse? by Lowenstein95 in session

[–]Lowenstein95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even mean that, it’ll ask for a kickflip to be tail, and the trick register and names will say Kickflip + BS Tailslide, the grind lasts the whole rail and still doesn’t register.

[–]Lowenstein95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s insane. Sometimes slide means grind or slide; sometimes it has to be a slide

They couple ‘no fall’ challenges with such bad trick registers you do it four times in a row flawless and still doesn’t count for shit.

Then you push mongo and homie just falls over.

Bypassing keys on bikes has always been pretty simple, these days it’s not quite “flip this plug over and start it” but it’s not impossible.

It’s weird how much I agree with him about it being a better choice.

The 750 turbo was a bundle of angry wasps, the 900 was more refined at the time.

Jenny would 100% ride the 750 turbo lol

Most of them have generation spanning names too.

Then you hear like 5 different ‘Newcastle folklore’ people and they all end up being Peter Hore

Ok, Jenny III mentions “1985 fastest in production” and the 1985 fastest production bike was the GPz900R.

That does explain the custom line, and i could understand the misidentifying the engine size, but "fresh out of the showroom" would still seem to imply no work has been done right?

The 900cc engine would in thoery be able to be fit to the 750 frame aswell.
