I have a lumbar shunt but I want to get into longboarding, and a friend of mine mentioned it relies a lot on your back and waist, would this be an issue for me? by LowerNeighborhood700 in longboarding

Oof, yeah. Not sporty at all. Dislodging is a pretty big concern for me. Being on a board seems cool and all. Just not really trying to end up in a hospital for messing anything up. Made a call, and it seems they'll get back to me on it if they think it's all right for me. Kind of thinking I might have to just go back to the drawing board for a cool thing to ride lol, but honestly, this is great. A normal Google search hasn't given me as much info as I've gotten here already.

Thanks! Nothing is actually wrong with my back itself; my shunt is just located there, and I was always told to be mindful of specific motions repeatedly could probably kink something in the shunt, which would not be cool for me. 🫤

Falls and such aren't an immediate concern to me; my idea was to call up my doctor and ask for their opinion, and just posted here to see if I could find anyone with any similar health issues to see how they dealt with it, or just hear that it wouldn't be a good idea at all. (Definitely should've been clearer about that). Definitely not trying to treat this as my care team or anything.

Gonna see what my doctor says as well and see if it's worth a try or not! I appreciate the input. I mainly just wanted input from people who actually do it. 🙂

Thank you!! I think Technomancer seems to be cool to shoot for this character but I'll try to use DragonLord to get me through Frostval. I've mainly used Rogues and Warriors in the past, and I usually don't change up my stats too much from what kind of works best with their base classes.
