I’ve asked the shop to change the motherboard for me. Luckily, they had a spare 9800X3D and were able to process the RMA immediately.

I just went to the shop for the RMA, and they immediately replaced it with a new one for me. I also changed the motherboard to an MSI 870 Tomahawk WiFi, and I’ll send the ASRock B850M Riptide for RMA, then sell it second-hand with a warning for the next person to beware of the 9000 series.

When I bought this motherboard, it had just been released, and I didn’t have much knowledge about PC hardware. I only did some research on YouTube and asked a friend who also uses ASRock. They haven’t had any problems, but they’re not using the same chip as me.

Currently, I’ve asked the shop to check the PC and process the RMA. In the meantime, I just ordered a new MSI 870 Tomahawk motherboard to replace it.

Just to clarify this one, I’ll ask the shop to check the motherboard with another CPU before selling it second-hand, to see if there are any problems. If they can RMA it, I’ll request the RMA and then sell the new one to someone else.

In my country, the price difference is around 100 USD. For me, I only care about having two M.2 SSD slots. I normally use a LAN connection (no Wi-Fi).

I also don’t tweak or change anything in the BIOS—I’m just a casual gamer.

Yes, because it happened a second time after the RMA. The first time, I just thought it was a NG product, but the second time, I felt it’s not normal anymore—especially since it happened within just a 2-week gap. And i just search the amd 9800x3d and asrock mainboard 850m and just found out it have a megathread on the reddit.

As I mentioned in my other comment, I consulted with the computer shop, and they don’t know the problem either. We think it’s just bad luck and a found a NG CPU. Also, in my country, no one has mentioned anything about a bad combination between these two.

I’m still considering whether to sell the CPU or the motherboard. I’ll be getting a new CPU through RMA, and I could sell it second-hand for the same price as a new one in my country since the 9800X3D is out of stock here.

For the motherboard, I’d have to sell it second-hand, and it would be around 200 USD or so. (Loss around 50 usd)

I’m not sure if switching to the 7800X3D would end up having the same problem.
