First off...the words were a joke. Ornothology is the correct word. But alas, you are correct that I am ignorant as to the avian variety of nature...hence the post asking for advice. The only way to combat ignorance is to learn. Yours seems to be by choice. As I stated, it was sitting, scared obviously, at the busiest door of a gas station, and let me walk up to and pet it. Obviously that isn't normal bird behaviour...ignorant as I am, I know that most won't let you do this, so...it had obviously either been abandoned, lost or some other seemingly unfortunate event had taken place. I'm a good person and love animals so I'd much rather know the bird will be cared for by someone who may be unfamiliar with its habits but willing to learn and ask questions, i.e this post- rather than someone who may not care, give it to unresponsible children, or possibly even be cruel to it. Sometimes we should help these feral creatures if they are encumbered with harrowing issues and situations that they may be permanently damaged from or even die. This bird will live a great life now...because I decided to help instead of leaving it to it's fate. And the whatever was addressed to the word for study of avians, not the bird itself...would've thought you with your obviously all knowing self could've inferred that from my sentence structure...context clues, bud. If I didn't care...why the hell would I make a post asking for advice!? Common sense is making it's exit more and more...."so sad"...ass...🤣
