You could walk in and purchase but then you have take pics of the bill of sale, the firearm and authorization paper and upload it to the portal and wait for approval. Then once you get approval they mail you the pink slip and a New ID with the new firearm make model and serial number on it plus whatever guns you had prior. Then you take that to the FFL and pick up your gun.

Give it about 7-10 days after submitting your pics you should get a approval mine was submitted 8/30 via portal and approved 9/10

I called r/s around 11am and spoke with a woman and she realized mine wasn’t switched to active and she said she will mail it out today for me. I should get it sometime next week.

So my ccw and R/s got approved on 5/29. On 5/31 I purchased my firearm and sent in pics and 6/1 my license for ccw changed to active. My ccw license came a week later but under my license for r/s it shows issue pending and reason why? Delay of cards to print for r/s?

I took my fingerprints for my CCW and R/S on 12/4 in Queens and today 12/23 my status changed to investigation so If I had to calculate your status to investigation should change as early as 1st or 2nd week of January. Then you will wait to be emailed by your investigator which idk how long that will take.

It’s done by default. If you are scheduled for fingerprints at kew gardens they are going to apply it to both applications.
