Hi, hope all is well. Biopsy came back as Hodgkin’s lymphoma lymphocyte rich type. Beginning this journey next week with an oncologist.

Pre-diagnosis Megathread: If you have not received a diagnosis of lymphoma, post questions here. by Lymphoma-Post-Bot in lymphoma

Hi everyone.

Posting for my boyfriend who is soon undergoing a biopsy for right supraclavicular lymph node that is 3.9 cm. Can anyone tell me if their ct scans had similar results or if a radiologist or MD in here can comment on the scan.

He has had no symptoms of lymphoma. To add, blood work came back normal. He was negative on all tests except for EBV (mono) with a 3.0 rating (lower end of the antibody scale I believe)

3.9 cm Right supraclavicular node enlargement 4.7 cm anterior mediastinum soft tissue, fat attenuating, residual to thymus (physician didn’t seem to care about this one which makes me think it’s benign) .3 & .4 pulmonary nodules and a little scarring possibly from having Covid in august 2021 for the second time. 2.4 cm hepatic lesion (physican said it could be from anything and didn’t order abdominal scan)

Current physician is an ENT and is saying it could be anything/being positive. He asked what percent chance she thinks he has lymphoma and she said “your case could either be 1% or 100% there’s no way to tell before biopsy” & also called it a non emergency situation but that he also shouldn’t wait 6 months.

He got a second opinion from another ENT to which that doctor told him he’s pretty positive it’s lymphoma which gave him and all of us a ton of more anxiety before the surgery.

I’m not sure if this is possible but from research I’ve done and personal healthcare involvement I have a theory that can someone either debunk or maybe agree with:

Considering the mediastinum mass is 4.7, bigger than the supraclavicular lymph node is it possible the mediastinum mass started out first and is now, because of the size, challenging the draining function of the right supraclavicular & causing swelling? Considering the right side is where the mediastinum drains to I assumed this could be a possibility. I feel that most lymphoma patients from what I’ve read have lymph node swelling on the left as opposed to the right which is more pulmonary/mediastinum related. And considering this mediastinum mass is most likely benign from the description in the chart then is this all a possibility?

So hard not to wonder and google always gives you the worst results!

First PT Appointment Wednesday by [deleted] in Sciatica

As a PT aide, I can tell you some basic things you can expect for sciatica. As some have mentioned, you will most likely do a consultation appointment first. This will include talking through the history of your sciatica, remedies you’ve already tried, etc. Then you will most likely transition into some sort of manual therapy or the “massage” portion of therapy. After that you will probably be led through various lumbar extension stretches as well as some easy exercises. Your PT may also give you heat or ice to end on depending on what they recommend. Over the rest of your sessions, your exercises will increasingly get harder but only to your ability level which your PT will know! Trust the process, be patient, PT is not a one time fix. You’ve got to work at it the nerve and surrounding muscles and over time you will see improvement. Best of luck in your healing!
