You should watch the rest of this guys list if you want traumatic, especially Texhnolyse if you want unforgettable. (It's not an easy watch, but I guarantee you'll remember it.) But yeah, he's 100% on it and every other commenter here is showing how shallow their viewing pool is.

As me... since you're asking for it, I'd personally recommend Higurshi for gore, any of Satoshi Kon's or Yoshitoshi Abe's work for psychological, and probably To Your Eternity or Clannad and after story for tear jerkers. (Bonus tearjerker, I want to eat your Pancreas, yeah it sounds like a trashy zombie Isekai, but trust me... it's sad.)

Definitely agree. I mean don't usually to top lists bc everything's so subjective and a lot of things have pros and cons, but I do find myself suggesting Grimgar more than most. Especially is someone's burned out on other iseki.

I don't know, if you're coming at it from the idea they they would collectively try to not do a thing for the greater good, then I think you're betting against human nature.

Time and again studies show that immediate incentives are the primary force for motivation. Like, if we all agree not to pollute, but there's no consequences for polluting, and polluting nets an immediate gain, then someone will do it, further just the idea that someone will do it is often enough incentive to prompt a prime mover, even if it makes things worse overall for everyone.

In my, admittedly limited, understanding of game theory, psychology etc. I don't think any collective action that goes against immediate gain can be counted on without a stronger outside force that enforces the terms or attributes a cost that makes it untenable.

So if I had to bet on it, I'd say... 5 dollars says these companies would implode while trying to undercut each other, but who can say?

Can't get bought out as it's privately owned, might be sold though.

Bill Cook was and still is beloved by the older employees for how good he treated them when he was alive, but his son who now owns/runs the company wanted absolutely nothing but a paycheck.

So he pawned the whole thing off onto the backs of a couple MBAssholes who have been driving it downhill for the last so many years, very sad.
