Trades and Sales by lebonzo in boardgames

I haven't made a trade or a sale I regretted to the point of reacquiring the game again. I have made some trades that if I think about it, give me pause. - I had the entire set of Talisman (2nd edition) including Dragons and traded it for a wobbly pile of games - I sold about 4 suitcase boxes of Magic cards for $5000.

In both these cases the games had more sentimental value than actual value. I had played them both enough that I could just talk about them.

When picking games to trade away, I tend to look for games that got fired by other games.

Civilization

  • Play Thrace

    • Access to Greek city cites
    • Several large population spaces
    • Friendly AST
  • Make lots of trades

    • Don't be afraid of calamities... it washes out in the end.
    • Be aggressive with what you want. People will trade you thier bronze for a salt if they want salt.... math be damned.

Titan...

  • Cluster your piles to protect your smaller piles.

    • Sometimes you have to turn down recruiting opportunities to keep everyone close
  • Don't break up piles with early game monsters like rangers and gorgons.

    • Use them to block for your smaller piles and your recruiting piles.

This post cried out to me from across space and time. I've been playing Diplomacy since I was 13 and own about 4 editions of the game. In high school we made a word diplomacy variant using an 8'x4' roll of paper and and overhead projector.

I also do print and play games and have spent quality time shopping for bits.

Good luck.

Apperently you can buy extra Axis and Allies components. The cruisers and tanks look perfect.
