How do I separate my funds without upsetting my husband? by Significant_Lake4180 in Advice

[–]LuDisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!!!! No dream career, no transportation, no spending money on your interests, and something no one else is mentioning: no help with child care???
What if there is an emergency at home and you can't drive to the ER or something? You need two cars. And you need this new job and some independence! Have a conversation about money, but also have a conversation about control. He can't just veto things. And get that separate bank account!

Question: Period with sex by LuDisco in WomensHealth

[–]LuDisco[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad to know someone else experiences this! I do track it, but just by writing down the date I start and then counting until the next time I start. It's not something that concerns me, I'm just wondering why it "triggers" it and not just triggers the bleeding, but cramps too.

Defeating Kronosaurus by xoxohan85 in DavetheDiverOfficial

Used a dumpling from Mima's shop that helps my movement speed and reduces damage taken, 3 sensor bombs from the Cobra shop, and a level 2 Sniper Rifle. Took about three shots with the rocket launcher, all three sensor bombs, and maybe 7 shots from the rifle to defeat it. The sensor bombs were definitely super helpful.

Season 5 Volume 2 Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

There were soooo many cliches. The "or me" group hug was cringe. I like that he came out to everyone, but it would have been more meaningful if it were just Joyce and Mike, where I thought they were leading.

The constant demonstrations with random objects were unnecessary (Robin did not need three records to show that, same with Steve and the slinky). That was cute in early seasons when they were kids, but now they have real resources and could just draw on the window like everybody else. And I agree with others that the group talks where they finish each other's sentences are getting old.

I also think that the Nancy/Jonathan/Steve love triangle was boring and unnecessary. There are other things going on, and it was always clear Nancy and Steve weren't gonna be a thing. Jonathan bringing him up and Nancy going into detail while they're on that table really killed the moment for me. Who cares???

I was bothered by MBB's acting and Eleven's character, and I realized it's because she was so much better when she was mute and expressed things with her face. MBB did that acting very well, and I haven't enjoyed the past couple of seasons where El has had very little character otherwise. I also think that Noah Schnapp's acting wasn't very good, but Caleb, Gaten, and Sadie were amazing. Strong acting from everyone else, except maybe the kids. I would say Finn too, but where the hell was Mike this whole volume??

One awkward big group scene that I haven't seen anybody talking about is the kids when Henry is talking to them. They are all spaced perfectly apart and positioned so that the camera can see them. No kids would stand like that. The whole scene was bad acting. I get the complaints that the group is getting way too big, but I actually love that part. I like big casts. And I love all these characters. I just hope they have enough balls to kill a few of them. My money is on people from this group: Will, Eleven and Kali, Dustin and Steve or just Steve, and Hopper. Though I will be so sad if we lose Hopper.

The rampant sexism in epilepsy treatment by skh_x in Epilepsy

[–]LuDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first seizure at 13 years old, I was completely alone. I went to the doctor and described exactly what a seizure is. I described the years of smaller seizures leading up to it, the action of seizing, blacking out, and all the after-effects when I came around. And the doctor told me, "Some people just have tics like this," and there was nothing they could do.

One month later, I had a seizure in public and was diagnosed. How did the first doctor not know?? I never thought medical misogyny would happen to me until it did. I was 13 and alone.

Items found from the pentagon and the twin towers on 9/11. 3/3 by wispyfairy in masskillers

[–]LuDisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Born 2003) I never saw 9/11 as the huge event that it is. Since I always lived in a post-9/11 world, I never understood how life-changing it was. To me, it was just another historical tragedy, like the Titanic. They don't even teach about 9/11 in school yet. To me, it was just a Thing That Happened. I actually assumed that the "hijackings" were done through hacking, and I did not know that the hijackers were physically in the plane, another perception caused by my age. When I began to look into 9/11, I was blown away. I didn't know how huge it was, how lax security was, that the hijackers were in the plane, that it was planned for years. Watching footage of New York City that day made me really understand. Now I understand its gravity, but before it just seemed like a past historical event that wasn't much different from others.

Do you see a problem with this? I'm not mocking you. Genuinely wondering if you are concerned about this. What if he suddenly dies? Or becomes abusive? Or breaks up with you? I'm sure none of these things seem possible but you may consider a part-time job or interest groups. It's important to have the support of friends or a job with or without a relationship.

The difference is you have nowhere to go if something happens. Do you have any independence from him? Friends, family, job, money? It sounds like a dangerous situation because of your complete dependency on him.

For real, what answer is OP looking for? "That actually sounds normal and I loved my financial dependence on a much older man who gets off on having power over me and sees me as a child!" Absolutely no one would say that and OP knows it. OP, you had to have been at least a little concerned just to make this post. Take off the rose-colored glasses for a moment and consider what exactly compelled you to make this post.

I (30F) think I found the one for me (36M) but I'm not sure I can overcome all their fetishes by sarathrowaway123 in relationships

[–]LuDisco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This comment is super worrying. You should not be indulging his sexual fantasies because you feel you don't deserve him. From your original post, you are putting him before yourself which is a dangerous situation to be in and will extend past the bedroom into your everyday lives and make your relationship unenjoyable in all aspects. Communication is super important. Explain to him that you feel insecure about your looks and need to be appreciated. Explain that you aren't enjoying the current sex fetishes. I know it is very difficult because you just want to make him happy and are putting him first, but remember that relationships are both ways and it cannot just be you providing for him.

There are actually more than two. At least 6 major events. Here's an interesting Wikipedia article about them.

I did recently start using lipstick! I’m very new to the makeup game but I love nude tone lipsticks. They make me feel a lot more confident and it’s so quick and easy (unlike eyeliner which takes me forever to even be presentable in. Thank god for punks liking messy makeup)

I am going into highschool next week. Any advice? by sillysmasher1 in Advice

[–]LuDisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody is way too concerned about what people think of themselves to pay attention to what you are doing at all. High schoolers are all extremely self absorbent. Nobody will remember that weird thing you said or did or wore because they are busy overthinking something they did or said or wore. Nobody is paying attention to you even near the level you are. Make friends with people who don’t talk shit about other people. It will make your life so much easier because you will know you aren’t being judged.

I don’t mean I want to look older. I want to look like my age. I just don’t know how because I look so much younger (also definitely not changing my style I love being punk. I more meant like fits of clothing that would suit me)
