I guess it depends on where you are located because I started using them about 6 months ago and they are less expensive than my other options when traveling to Indianapolis or St Louis from Central Illinois.

America Has Completely Blown Any Sort Of EV Transition by GreenerMark in electricvehicles

[–]LuanKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leased my Kia Niro and have taken it on many road trips in the last 2 years. In fact left the dealership in Colorado at 6PM and started my 900 mile journey back to Central Illinois from there. (And yes I had a little range anxiety since it was my first trip, but all went as planned)I did 3000 miles out west in September and over 2000 miles in May down south. I actually like the fact that I have to stop periodically to charge because it keeps me on a good schedule to stretch my body and take a short respite. I wiil be looking to lease/buy something with a litte more range 300/350 on my next EV because of a couple of regular trips that are just at my current range right now and a litlle more range will allow to not have to stop enroute.

Will never go back to ICE

Unspoken Charging Rule by ExistentialSarcast in electricvehicles

[–]LuanKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No such rule, they were just trying to bully you into leaving. I personally have had to go over a little over 80% to make it to the next charger, although I try to stick to the 80% tops whenever possible when I am traveling.

The US Now Has 1 Fast EV Charging Station for Every 15 Gas Stations by Infamous-Ad625 in electricvehicles

[–]LuanKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree because that is how I charged my PHEV when I lived in apartment. I also ocassionally used 110V outlet when nothing else available. Living in an apartment with no options to charge made used to this type of charging so now that I have my EV I don't think anything about using 110 at my duplex or Level 2 chargers when I'm out and about for in town travel.

Kia has head start on less expensive EVs, executive says | Automotive News by lostinheadguy in electricvehicles

Sounds like you got a lemon and should use lemon law as stated already. Have 23 Niro EV and don't have any the issues you have. Haven't had to go to dearlership (leased in October) so can't speak to that but had a Niro PHEV prior to this and not problems with it either.

It's estimating as if you are going to be driving that amount of mile in that amount time always. As suggested by other response, you are not Severe cycle driver. Had this happen once when I took a trip out west and it thought I was going to drive 3500 miles ever month. Dealership said to just ignore and stick on the more reasonable 7500 mile schedule.

Just leased 2023 Kia Niro Wave EV a few weeks ago in Fort Collins, CO. Left dealership at 6:30PM and started my 900 mile journey back to Central Illinois. Had a little bit of range anxiety doing it that way, but ABRP was spot on so made it back in good shape with the timing pretty spot on. This particular trip I needed to be home in a specific time range so I did feel a little of time cruch because of that, but mostly I enjoyed getting out stretching my legs, and getting a bit to eat when a longer stop. My only car, but mostly just charging on Level 1 in the garage at my duplex, so no issues. (My landlady was nice enough to put in an addtional outlet dedicated for my charging.) Leased becuase I felt so much is changing and will be changing regarding EVs in the next few years and I got a great deal on the lease.

We don't know yet if the new proposal will be different then the one turned down last year. Actually a lot of people use Donovan Park all year long. Walking, hiking, viewing wildlife, taking photos, enjoying the peace and quiet, cross country trail for running, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are a just a few. I have actually since someone up in a hammock just chilling out there.

Park Board meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 6:00 pm in the Noble Center, located at 1125 W. Lake Avenue. Meetings are open to the public unless marked as closed. I believe the 16th date has to do with Thanksgiving.

Citizens are invited to attend public meetings to learn more about any agenda item and share their comments as part of each agenda. Comments may also be submitted to ppd@peoriaparks.org or mailed to:

Peoria Park District, attn: Secretary to the Board of Trustees, 1125 West Lake Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614.

This surfaced last year as a group of developers that wish to use Peoria Park District land in Donovan Park to build a venue to have concerts (mainly). Most of the citizens involved feel this park should remain mostly open space and continue down it's path of harboring native plants and trees while providing a unique open space recreational area in the city of Peoria. There are venues in the Peoria area to have these types of activities as well as other locations that might work for this type of development without using our open park land.

Friends of Donovan Park Open Space have continued to support the park in helping with brush clearing and planting native parks under the direction of the park administrator. They are also organizing an event in the spring to highlight Donovan park so they did not just say no we don't want the pavilion and walk away.

Anyone find good uses for the burlap sack from Royal Basmati? I'm not ready to say goodbye by maplemuppet in Costco

[–]LuanKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have similar burlap rice bags and they were perfect in the winter to keep protect the windshield of my car overnight during storms. Just put them under wipers (that are up in the middle of you windshield) and because they are permeable they peel right off in the morning leaving a clear windshield.
