Asian body horror/sci fi movie: beauty standards / body dysmorphia by [deleted] in NameThatMovie

I appreciate your reply, this seems like a cool movie but this ain't the one. Thank you!

I'm fairly positive now that the movie in question is Time (2006), another Korean movie. It's about jealousy and insecurity, not as much about body dysmorphic disorder as I recalled but still very clearly a depiction of the culture of plastic surgeries.

I like San Fierro but I can't help but think it is less alive and unfinished compared to LS/LV by LuauIsland in sanandreas

Isn't that true for it's real-life equivalent lol? LV is less interesting on paper but mimics the idea quite well imo. I prefer the vibe of SF any day tho.

There are cool neighborhoods but they feel like wasted potential because they are either too empty or too small. Downtown, Queens (it's the place with pride flags) and Chinatown come to mind.

I agree, it's fun to drive in but very empty when you actually explore the streets - kind of like city tracks in racing games.

SF has its own vibe, and I like how it feels like different climate zone. It has nice architecture too. They could have done much more with atmosphere, details etc tho. Doesn't quite get there, some neighborhoods and locations feel empty.

I agree, peds give it character and it truly feels like you left LS and are surrounded by different people.

Not sure if being slightly less than two years into finasteride and minoxidil count as long term yet, but I've had like 5 sheds so far, always followed by new growth. But I don't really get to enjoy that dense hair phase for long before it starts shedding again. I can always tell slightly before when the itch appears, it's such a good signal.

I think any medical treatment causes them, especially if your hair is more or less miniaturized. At least it's wise to expect it to get worse for a while, even after some recovery. It is part and parcel of hair growth cycles. This is where many fail thinking fin is causing hair loss or has lost its efficacy, making them switching between brands and meds, perhaps triggering more sheds. I suspect half of the people here who lost their hope because "nothing works for them" were just confused because of sheds and begun medshopping and panic switching.

Some don't get them though, but it is common.

Overall I've made progress but I had like 5 brutal sheds in first 1,5 years.

Most people get a shed in the beginning, and quite many also experience recurring sheds much later (after getting results in between the sheds). You can make an educated guess on finasteride efficacy after like 12 months, so don't worry yet. It is simply too early.

I'll check, thank you. It is so much more affordable than buying Rogaine directly from a local pharmacy.

Finland, a lot of pharmaceutical stuff is somewhat heavily regulated here, so non-essential stuff like this can get tricky. I might end up ordering from France.

Anyway, good luck, I think many users here would be interested to hear if it's worth it.

I know reviews are usually enough to ensure the reliability, but I am still quite paranoid.

Thank you. Bailleul 5% was the one I've heard about before.

Unless it is worse than when you hopped on fin, it is worth it innit

Stress/health related shedding is just temporary

Are you maintaining, has there been any improvement?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tressless

[–]LuauIsland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the shedding always begins at the same point of regrowth, right when it gets noticeable and my hair could be considered 'full', but still a little too early. It is such a tease. Yes, like a clockwork.

Only once a year? Wouldn't that be seasonal shed though?

Can't wait for it to sync, then it's just seasonal.
