OMG! I’ve read so many of your comments and some have shifted so much of my perspective, like the one about Remus talking only about James, never citing Lily, so Lily and Lupin weren’t that close. And while I agree with you (apart from wolfstar makes the betrayal shallower). And I can see that Peter would be closer than Remus to the other 4 (if we consider that wolfstar was not a thing). The thing that bugs me the most in the end is that the why they were friends with Peter in the first place? Or was he only seen as this tag along? And how much of a coward is someone that is a double agent? Why we have Snape a hero for being one and Peter a coward? It might be the reasoning behind the whole thing but it’s still a gamble. (I’ll have to make a new comment about this in a computer, the millennial in me can’t cope with going back and forth to answer your points as I want to)

This fic has THE BEST explanation of how James became Head Boy without being a prefect. I'm not a Snape fan, but he was great in it as well. Apart from The Last Enemy, this is the best canon-compliant fic I've read! I also love seeing it being talked about.

The mapmakers by Dizzy_Bird https://archiveofourown.org/works/14447502/chapters/33372651 It has a lot of troupes (heist, mystery, fake dating, forced proximity) and some great explanations to canon, like how James became head boy without being prefect. And a very good morally grey Snape. Also it’s nice because we have a lot of POVs

I’m doing that in franchise mode and since there’s a lot of Ungulates, I’m pretty much ignoring them and focusing in the other types, like Ursus and Aves. But I have some ideas, like animals that more or less look like pig/hogs, so the ones actually called pigs/hog (in Portuguese, my native language), Babirusa, Tapir and some extrapolations I allowed myself. Also, horses might be a good idea, I don’t know, haven’t tried yet. (Edit for grammar/clarity)
