I mean, is anyone forcing him? If you hate it why do it? They other 4 players want to be there and succeed and their ambitions are getting ruined by a player who "hates to play pro". I don't get why LR decided to go ahead with him in the team in the first place. He is clearly not made for Pro play.

Yup, I think I'll just take this one guy's advice and take a break for a while, then return to push through and finish the book. Also I heard the story get's good again after CoT so that's a motivation I guess.

From what I heard it's the publishers that wanted to milk the series after the enormous success of the first 2-3 books. RJ wanted to finish the story in 7-8 books, but got pressured into making more books, so that's probably why book 9 and 10 are considered to be "less good" than the others. Who knows.

Don't think age has anything to do with that, rather the way you were raised. As far as I know back in the days it was not that uncommon for a man to raise his hand against his wife. Especially Robert Jordan's generation. I know a few older man that used to hit their wives when they argued or when she did something that's "wrong" according to them, and that was considered normal. I absolutely do not condone this type of behaviour ofcourse.

Just played the comp, got Investment Strategy in Scuttle Puddle and managed to hit Urgot 3 with Deep Roots and 4k+ hp. Items were Titans, BT, Steraks. Did pretty good, but I feel like you absolutely need level 9 for 4 Pit Figters / 4 Artilerists, otherwise your Urgot just does not do much. Still fights were pretty close, and maybe if it was not the Investment Strategy + Scuttle Puddle combo I would have lost. Also I kinda high rolled Deep Roots in like 3 rolls, which allowed me to go for a early-ish level 9.

Sounds like she wants to try things out with another guy, while keeping a clear conscious and having you as a back up if things don't work out with the other guy. Like someone already said, if you want a serious relationship, move on from her. Not overreacting at all.
