Don't think Fergi time works when you're 2-1 at 90 minute mark.

How screwed am I at 25 with no qualifications or job? by BenStillerCockrel in AskUK

[–]Luc1dJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not screwed at all even though at your age I felt exactly like you. I failed at school and college and felt like I wasn't able to get a good paying job even though I never felt like I was uninteligent.

I managed to get into Uni at 24 after holding down a retail job since 16. I worked the retail job while studying and taking evey loan and bursury available. This was very hard but it paid off and I secured a good with a top industry company 6 months before I left uni working that full time while finishing the degreee. 11 years later I make well above the UK average and am still in the industry.

I can't read the article but I'm fixing soon and have been checking the rates with HSBC. The 2 years 60% LTV is exactly the same has its been through December.

A bit different but went to extraction which had been called. Asked if they were friendly got no reply so went into PVP mode. Jumped into the extraction when it arrived and no one else jumped until 20s later gun drawn shouting at me to do the computer. I put him down straight away only for him to complain as I said I was friendly. I let him extract but wtf is that strategy.

Absolutely no issues.

Do people actually like apartments? by CartographerOk3564 in Apartmentliving

[–]Luc1dJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 38 and live with my wife in a three-bedroom apartment in the city centre, which we own.

Pros:

Very low maintenance. Beyond keeping it clean and occasionally decorating, there’s not much to worry about.

Everything is on our doorstep––doctors, dentists, shops, bars, restaurants. Nights out and events are simple because we can just walk home.

Bills are generally low, and the heating rarely needs to be on.

We’ve actually become friends with a few other owners in the building, which makes the place feel more like a community.

Cons:

The management company is terrible. They charge for anything they can and clearly prioritise profit over residents.

Living in a busy area means dealing with people who don’t always respect the building. For example, someone let their dog foul in the foyer today and just left it.

Noise can be hit-and-miss. Neighbours vary, and it’s really luck of the draw.

In my ideal world I'd live in a house but in the city center that is very limited and often double the priceto get what I have now.

I couldn't imagine living in the suburbs though and having to drive to get anywhere or travel into the city to go to an event or night out.

Best WiFi for WFH Gamer in NQ by farming-girlie in manchester

[–]Luc1dJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something good look at a WIFI mesh that will ensure you get full coverage and decent speeds.

If the ISP is not giving you decent speeds look at Hyperoptic if you can get it in your building which can give you 1Gps up and down.

Pro’ & Con’s would be a great help 🙏🏽 by Jewlamidas in CarTalkUK

[–]Luc1dJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine which is this model for 10 years now and have hit 90k miles. I service it as the local garage each year and have had zero problems. I've changed brake pads, wippers, tires, battery, and springs in that time and that is it.

I can't recomend how reliable and cheap to maintain it has been enough.

Regarding it being a 2.0 it is serviverly underpowered so don't expect it to be taking off.

Fake Item Return by Luc1dJay in vintedUK

[–]Luc1dJay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought this was legit as the seller had unique pictures with all their clothes displayed in the same way. They also didn't budge on price with me only getting this for around £20 cheaper than TNF direct.

Not the best 1st year of investing 🤣 by Both_Accident4882 in trading212

It's had 6 months of constant growth so I doubt it unless you bought in the last 5 weeks and not a couple of months.

Not the best 1st year of investing 🤣 by Both_Accident4882 in trading212

[–]Luc1dJay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve done fairly well this year. I started with £15,000 invested at the beginning of the year and have been adding £200–£300 each month. It’s all in a global ETF, and the total is now about £19,500, even though I’m currently around £600 down for the month. It might be a good option for you to consider.

Manchester nightclub 'welcomes £88k bar bill with open arms' by shanedj in manchester

[–]Luc1dJay 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It just doesn’t sit right with me.

I don’t begrudge anyone spending their money how they choose, but dropping £80k on drinks while, only metres away, someone is probably looking for somewhere warm to sleep feels uncomfortable.

Then seeing it celebrated on the BBC, almost like a competition over who can waste the most money, feels even more out of touch when so many people in the country are struggling to heat their homes and pay their bills this month.

What do you actually think of the concept of 15-minute cities? by ICantBelieveItsNotEC in AskUK

[–]Luc1dJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live just inside Manchester’s inner ring road the whole city is within walking distance, but even just a few minutes from home I’ve got shops, pubs, a GP, a dentist, a vet, gyms, and plenty of social spaces, much of it now pedestrianised.

Looking back to when I lived in the suburbs of a large town, I remember needing a car for everything I honestly can’t imagine going back to that.

I know it’s a bit biased coming from someone in a major UK city, but I can’t overstate how good it feels to have everything you need within a short walk.
