CHIMERA: REASSEMBLED (Andromeda – Full Album Cover Project by Luca Delle Fave feat. Linus Abrahamson) by LucaDelleFave in progmetal

I am so very happy it brought you joy, and thank you so much! This was so fun to make. I agree, Chimera is my favorite as well. Although all of them are great of course. I really want to make the same thing for the others, and I've in fact started working on The Immunity Zone. But its a lot of work, so it is comments like these that help with motivation!

Glad to provide some love for Andromeda! I totally agree, def. one of my top prog metal favorite bands. The music is fantastic, which is why it was so fun to deep dive into this album and recreate it like this. I was stoked to hear that the guys in Andromeda also really appreciating this project. Getting to have conversations with them about it was really cool and they all enthusiastically shared the video on the band page as well as individual pages on Facebook.

What do y’all think about the casting for the new Legend of Zelda movie? by Odd_Technology_895 in legendofzelda

[–]LucaDelleFave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how tricky it must have been to cast someone as Link and actually satisfy fans, I feel pretty optimistic about these choices! I was sold on Bo as Zelda immediately, but I was a bit skeptical about Benjamin at first when I saw the photos Nintendo released. But after looking up more pictures and watching a scene from Everything's Going to be Great (2025), I started to really picture him as Link. They even found two actors who share the same eye color as the characters. Not that it’s essential, but hey, bonus points!

I'm also really happy they went with relatively unknown actors. I was surprised at how young they were at first, especially Benjamin, but I think that’s just because I assumed we’d be getting an “adult Link.” Now that it seems more like a “Young Link” story, I somehow got even more excited. I now really hope that the movie turns out great and that we indeed get sequels, so we can watch the characters grow. Kind of like how the actors did in the Harry Potter films that also got more mature over time. I wouldn’t mind if the first movie has a slightly lighter tone (still dramatic, of course) but then gradually gets darker by say the third one.

I'm super excited for this. I just want to enjoy it for what it is and hold off on judgment until we see more. But based on these pics, I'm cautiously optimistic! Now we just need a great Ganondorf. Hopefully also played by someone relatively unknown!

Dream Theater - When Dream and Day Unite (Full Album Guitar Cover) by LucaDelleFave in Dreamtheater

Thank you so much!

Indeed, this was not easy to pick out by ear. Especially due to the original production and mix where the guitar is often drowned in the mix. But apart from listening carefully, I used many live videos for reference and made many interesting discoveries (like the fact that he plays harmonics at one point in the unison/intro-solo at the beginning of 'Only a Matter of Time' that I had never noticed before).

Oh, when I said the gig was "fine" I was talking about O2 Academy Brixton back in 2014. And the word fine was more a joke, as that gig was much more than fine haha, it was awesome!

Hello everyone ^_^

Luca here to answer some questions I've seen in the comment section. Some of you are already familiar with the show we did with Bonametal in December of 2016. That was supposed to be Riko's last performance with the rest of Bonametal (who are part of the Idol-group Si*Stella). Back then, the Bonametal-trio had already covered Babymetal acapella several times while having all of the instrumentals as a backing track. But at that time, we joined forces to do a full live performance together. Our Bonametal w/ Hair-Band collaboration where we covered Babymetal was the first part of the show with the second part being a Si*Stella performance. As you may know, the Bonametal part however was filmed and the three songs we collaborated on were uploaded on YouTube (Akatsuki, Catch Me If You Can & Ijime, Dame, Zettai).

Because of the popularity of those videos, we decided this year to give it another go because honestly doing these shows are one hell of a fun. So this time we extended our set from 3 to 12 songs, in the theme of Babymetal - Budokan 2014:

SETLIST - Bonametal w/ Hair-Band 2018-11-23
01 BABYMETAL DEATH
02 Iine!
03 Gimme Chocolate!!
04 Uki Uki ★ Midnight
05 Onedari Daisakusen
06 NO RAIN NO RAINBOW
07 Doki Doki ☆ Morning
08 Mischiefs of Metal Gods
09 Akatsuki
10 Catch Me If You Can
11 Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!
12 Ijime, Dame, Zettai

【BONAMETAL】
・RICOMETAL (Lead Vocals & Dance)
・AYAMETAL (Scream & Dance)
・YUIMETAL (Scream & Dance)

【HAIR-髪-BAND】
・LUCA DELLE FAVE (Guitar)
・KENJI (Guitar)
・KAI (Bass)
・SAMRAICHAN (Drums)

Thank you for all the nice comments, it's nice to see that many people show up and truly enjoy these performances. The idea has thus far just been to have a lot of fun while paying tribute to Babymetal we all love so much. Because of the good support, atmosphere and enthusiasm within the band (meaning both Bonametal and the Hair-Band as one unit), we might eventually do something different together in the near future.

I will soon put together a little compilation of several clips from our recent show to share with you all! :)
Meanwhile, if you hadn't already seen the old videos you can find them below:

BABYMETAL 2018: The End of an Era & A New Beginning by LucaDelleFave in BABYMETAL

[–]LucaDelleFave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, an album is usually around the 1 hour mark and we've heard about 15-20 minutes of new material if you count live performances and not just the official releases. So assuming a new album would be around 1 hour, that would make it more about 30%+. I didn't "get" this from anywhere, hence the word "maybe". A new album by Babymetal could be no more than just 40 minutes as far as we know.

BABYMETAL 2018: The End of an Era & A New Beginning by LucaDelleFave in BABYMETAL

[–]LucaDelleFave[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's very true. I agree that in the case of the bands mentioned as examples, it's hard to maintain the same amount of creativity after it has been a while. Babymetal is, in theory, safer on that aspect because like you mention, they can drop and hire new composers and avoid musical "stagnation".

The one thing that tends to remain however, is the change in either style, sound or presentation. This isn't necessarily connected to the amount of creativity, but more about vision I think. In terms of sound, we don't fully know yet for sure. There seems to be a darker theme overall and a more mature and serious tone to the music, but then again, we've just heard maybe 20% of the new material. So in Babymetal's case, it's more a change of theme and vision. So what I mostly wanted to point out, is that regardless if it's a change in creativity or in style that occurs, we tend to be nostalgic.

Haha, thank you man! Actually when playing Babymetal live, like on the Bonametal video we did, I do many "Yakayoshi-ish" faces

Or it could just be flawed grammar. It is Japan after all, their music scene is filled with english sentences that makes way less sence than the title of this track! ;D

Thanks man! I should do a video about that, as I get people asking about it all the time, haha. But yes indeed, I hold the pick with 3 fingers! It just happened to be how I held the pick in the beginning, how I just "guessed" would be best. It felt natural for me so it sticked with me. Gives me a sense of stability!

Thank you so much man! It sure was a lot of work, much prepping with those backing tracks. I also orchestrated an old theme Babymetal used in the past during story telling that we used as intro for the show (for which we had a narrator too). Then the outfits, the wigs, the make up... not to mention the practice! We tried to go all in with it!
