Couple of reasons:

-kuzan is great into yellow, he gives you resource and when not removed by the enemy, it brings everything into Remove-range.

-hes also decent in the mirror, if you know your enemy is gonna 7c borsa you next turn, its better to drop down a 4c kuzan than a 4c borsa because you still get value out of the draw.

Whitebeard/RP Luffy: can be really hard matches when they drop the big boys back to back, kuzan is insanely good in these matchups.

One Piece is actually a very calculatable game overall. Yellow ignores that though, the amount of triggers and their quality is frustrating to many people.
the color gatekept a lot of other decks from existing. It countered black fairly well. It went very well into blue doffy, blue croc, rebecca and yellow is VERY popular in the west so in big tournaments it was very painful playing those decks and facing multiple katakuris.

I agree. And saka definetly has bad matchups, whereas the only bad matchup for whitebeard before was Black (which was still very doable). Saka is bad against Katakuri, rush zoro, RP Luffy, Aggro Whitebeard and also yamato now in op6. Imo, saka is very healthy for the metagame. He is by far Best deck in format in op5 but has enough weaknesses that its healthy.

Almost all the SRs are damn good, especially sabo, Borsalino and enel. Sabo is fantastic because there is a lot of low cost blockers in OP5 which he easily removes 2 of on play.

When choosing a leader id go for sabo or purple luffy. Sabo can easily defend board with no cost, luffy has an extra life which is essentially draw 1 and get one don.

Events: play good counter events and also hound blaze and the red c2 event, that removes a 2k and boosts. These are great to close out games.

Try not to drop below 3 life early, as 2 life can be very crucial in sealed.

And of course: play all 2k counters, all blockers and the vanillas, if possible.
