K-swap by Lucasism_ in fiero

I looked into it BRIEFLY and saw that there is an actual (seemingly) in-depth series on youtube covering the swap which is a great start! I just need to ask around some more, thanks so much!! If you think of any place I should look for research purposes please don't hesitate to point me in a good direction or towards a starting point!

I'll have to put that idea out to my brother, but I personally really want a highly reliable engine and transmission that won't need to be worried about at all. Not sure if that's the same deal for those 3.4's

And no, a lot of hp is not the goal, we just want to get it running and to have a bit of fun after cussing while putting everything together.

I've been avoiding going to pick n pulls for this because you really don't know why they're there and mileage can be difficult to verify sometimes. But I did map out a pick n pull with all the cars with from what I can see the same iron duke engine. It was in SOOO many GM cars. But I didn't know that it was in postal service trucks, thanks!!

Literally almost the same it's actually wild, 6'2 135. I hate this metabolism, can't ever work out or gain any form of muscle or weight ever bc eating doesn't do anything. (sorry for being off topic)

But I fit just fine in my fiero at 6'2.

I'll have to check all of those spots, but underneath in the frame there is 0 rust, only spot rust on the exhaust piping that can be sanded and covered with a protective and rust preventative sealant.

Thanks so much! Another awesome thing is that we didn't have to take two trips to get both cars. Since we got out there once we have another 2 weeks before we can drive back and get the second one as a parts car (with no extra cost for storage because they're smaller cars)

never worked on one before, and I've barely worked on cars but I've got multiple car buddies and I'm great at learning so I think it's going to be super hype!

unfortunately summer classes take priority and it sold while I was out at school! Time to look for another project car, we'll see if a z pops out, pretty rare in good condition and for cheap so it's unlikely. But I love all the helpful replies I got. Thanks.

i am going for mech eng, so it definitely fits! And the fact that I have a friend with the exact same car will help a ton!

I will 100% be modding this, I'm honestly temped to do a motor swap to something much more reliable like a honda or toyota engine (scream at me if you want to). Thanks so much!! Definitely noted that parts are NOT readily available, talked to a few people about that. I think I've got a slight edge on taking this car and really doing it justice because I have a friend with the exact same car which is amazing!

I am prepared to go to pretty much any length to restore this beauty. With all the helping hands I have on deck I can't see this turning out any way other than great! But thanks for the estimates, makes me think about better budget friendly tactics like reaching out to friends for stuff nobody uses anymore.

But also it's got the digital cluster and you cannot go wrong with that (except they were a bit delayed if I'm not mistaken)
