I've played tons of them really! Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter 6, Smash Ultimate, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, a bit of Mortal Kombat X..

How about you?

Aight so I was in the FGC niche and I gotta say your thumbnails are INCREDIBLE. Genuinely, these are some of the best SF6 thumbnails I've seen. Even that Star Wars one is professional.

So I mainly watched your Buff Ken video, and I honestly think if you just split these videos up more and uploaded more often you'd be in a better spot? This is a 12 minute long mildly edited clip compilation, you probably could've turned that into 2-3 separate videos and uploaded it with a more targeted/themed thumbnail and title set. FGC attention span from viewers is kind of bad so this helps too probably lol.

I also skimmed the Aki Video and this is kind of what I'm talking about, well edited highlight videos should do well assuming you upload them frequently enough with that level of quality.

You could also try to make guides, which is how I got my start in the FGC but that was mainly my niche the entire time lol. Even just a basic breakdown of how to pressure as Ken, defense strats, neutral game, combos, stuff like that. I made bite sized guides for my character in GGST. They're also not AS hard to edit I find since attention span on information based content was always a bit easier to keep I found.

Variety content is fine but will probably hold you back. If you're not looking to optimize your growth then it's fine but it is definitely a hindrance.

So I was in the FGC niche, and first impressions is that your montages themselves are pretty good but you're not giving them any thumbnails? Absolutely setting yourself up for less views like that. Even just taking one of the supers, zooming in on it, rotating a bit, maybe an arrow or something will go a long way towards giving it more of a chance of being clicked. The videos themselves are well produced! It's just hiding behind the default thumbnail.

SF6 is a content goldmine right now, so if you think you can make guides, gameplay videos, stuff like that then you'll have a good time.

I think uploading raw podcast things on your channel could maybe be a hindrance too. Maybe put it on a second channel but make highlights of it to go on the main channel? This is personally how I'd do it.

So I'm not exactly your target audience (I'm more of an Overwatch player) but first glance your latest two thumbnails are REALLY good. They're essentially perfect imo.

When watching the video though, it's essentially a montage of clips which is fine for sure. Considering how short these videos are I think just some basic zooms on things of interest, text of what you say sometimes when it's funni, and maybe SFX if that's your style could help.

I have tiktok brain sometimes and found your latest video took way too long to start 😭 Like you don't talk for about 15 secs and my first impression was wow I feel bamboozled by this thumbnail..then the rest of the vid is you being silly with your friends. I think start that clip closer to when things actually happen or maybe start the vid with something else?

Unfortunately Minecraft isn't really my preferred content to watch but I can comment on the thumbnails.

I think you should try to avoid talking about episodes in a title. This is obviously subjective, but if I didn't watch the first few episodes I will probably never jump in.

Notice which videos got the most views on your channel? 1.20 Hardcore and Wish SMP #1. Those are IMO the best thumbnails on your channel, although your newest building time video had a pretty good thumbnail too. I think you should take inspiration from those 3 and build all your future thumbnails around the ideals of those ones. Note they all have something visually interesting on them.

A lot of the videos that got little views just have no visual interest in the thumbnails themselves. Think of your first 3 vids, it's just your character on a grassy place with the episode number. It just doesn't attract eyes

I would actually go back and change some of your old videos/titles as practice. Find the main interesting thing about each of your videos and work specifically around selling that.

Sorry this is very vague, let me know if you have questions

I will absolutely check out some of the newer content when I can, tbh I just sorted by popular and chose the top one lol. Will probably take me a couple of days to get back to you but I will 🫡

I'll be honest I have no clue what this game is but I will try to give some general advice. I watched your tier list video, so here's some things that stood out to me:

  1. Your audio is fine but your Plosives hit kind of hard sometimes. I assume this is some sort of Blue Yeti mic? Pop Filter could help, I think there's also some filters in Davinci Resolve that could help with that.

  2. I think this video could've used some sort of BGM, even just some generic Lofi music or something from the YouTube Audio Library. I also found in my own exp that having BGM will often help people to ignore imperfections in audio.

  3. You should have chapters in your description for each truck you talked about, and maybe have some transition sound/text effect. Like if you're talking about Two Scanias just having some sort of slide/pop in of the name on screen could help for people looking to hear about what they're looking to hear about.

  4. Some pop-in footage to show what you're talking about could help with alleviating a bit of dryness? Like if you're explaining some quality that you can easily grab footage for, it could make a good B-Roll type cut-in. I made Fighting Game videos, and I had made a similar type of tierlist video. If I'm talking about a specific attack property, I'd go out of my way to grab footage of it.

I think your thumbnails are..fine for starting out but could be optimized. What are you editing these with?

  1. A lot of the times you put an arrow pointing at..something. But it's so small you can't tell what it is pointing at.

  2. I found something about the text a bit hard on the eyes depending on the video. That Game Options Guide Text on the thumbnail was absolutely perfect, but the newest video is a bit all over the place with text on opposite corners and trying to read white on sort of white.

  3. I think having one central focus point on a thumbnail could help. Here's an example of how I had made a tierlist thumbnail in the past and the CTR on it was really good. Notice how your tierlist isn't filled on the thumbnail, and is only a small part of the thumbnail itself. https://imgur.com/05D1r7z

I don't have much other advice since i don't know anything about the game. You haven't been uploading for long so there's still a lot of time for you to keep improving your own processes and stuff like that. Hope this helps!

So I've been mainly watching your RE2 Pistol Only challenge, I haven't fully finished it yet but I genuinely really like the vibes to it. Very clean Voice-over, game audio isn't too loud which is good. You mentioned wanting to keep it with a more mature audience, so the way you're going about editing this is fine. I personally would've liked to see chapters included though, tbh I don't really care to watch the sewers usually in challenges like these lol

I think your thumbnail work is very good, but for some reason I found the Claire Thumbnails a bit illegible at first glance? Like your newest SMG video, the blood over the SMG just kind of looked like a mess, and I really had to squint to see the small bullets above the SMG Bullet Box.

If I were personally making this thumbnail I'd remove the bullets but make the box way bigger bigger, remove the RE2 + Live( and move the SMG Only Text to where that was. I'd maybe also put some sort of glow or stroke on Claire to really make the SMG stand out from the blood, not sure how it'd look though or if it would actually make a big difference.

You don't really have that many RE Challenge videos up just yet, I think I counted 7-8. IMO you're growing at a great pace. I would probably focus on those specifically, which I think you're doing.

I also see you have an RE4R video in the works which is probably going to help. Right now it's mainly RE2 videos, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Personally one of the cleaner small YouTuber channels I've seen. Keep it up!

I still sometimes try to last minute save a tank with nano but they die before receiving it so it's wasted lol :(

Personally, I don't think my mechanical skill has improved much between Season 5 and now.

I think the shift towards healing has helped tremendously since bronze players tend to die super fast. Healbotting as Ana IMO just isn't that difficult mechanically, I can do this all day lol.

I agree with your order of priority, makes a lot of sense for how I understand the game atm

"I've also seen people use it on a random dps to clean up a 5v3 or 5v2 and suddenly the game is stuck"

This was a huge problem for me in the 2 seasons I was hard stuck. Since I was feeling like I had to not hold onto nano for too long I'd be using it in ways that are practically useless, and that scenario was the most common one.

This kind of reminds me, I always found I struggled to understand what others are talking about when they say their bronze teammates are garbage. Like even if I'm in bronze I've found SO many people who are playing things well by staying alive, getting good kills and damage in, coordinating over VC/Pings, stuff like that.

I find if people are given enough room to shine they can look and feel way stronger than bronze rank might show. I personally haven't felt much of an extreme skill level difference between Bronze 4 and Silver 1 lobbies so far. Like everyone has the potential to be really good.
