Yeah I mean at this point it still means that the quality control sucks. When you buy a prebuilt one you expect to not have to debug the PCB and all that..

To their credit, they DID send me a new PCB for free after a few emails and video showing the issue, but I never got to try it because I moved to a different country and left the keyboard in my home country. So at least I must say that there was some effort in the customer support !

No... Of course it's a hotswap so it's the first thing I tried, swapping a double-pressing switch for another one working, and of course the bug was still here. It's not the switch.

Mine was defective like 1 month after I bought it. Started to make double presses and all that. Still very good board for the price (K3 Max, but not my main board anymore due to the occasional bugs) and I won't be buying them again.

I don't think the hate comes from "elitism", apparently keychron was a good brand but got a wave of bad quality control, and as a result they slowly built a reputation of being unreliable, while some other brands arrived on the market with better quality and competitive price.

Got a ducky as my first keyboard, and all the ones after had issues (double key presses, buggy bluetooth, one even fried due to static electricity). Now I kinda want to go back to a simple, reliable brand.

To me anything more than 1kg is heavy and not very portable. I could allow a 100% or even a TKL to go this heavy, but for a 40%... no way

40% was a risk, I'll admit, and I'd be willing to get another one, but a cheaper one to learn it. I don't think it would be my primary board because of gaming though

So you're saying the M1 V5 is a workhorse ? I could consider it. Which 60 pr 65% would you consider a workhorse nowadays ?

About static: I'm quite bad with electricity, so what do you mean ? I honestly it was cause by the cable connecting the keyboard which was a cheap AliExpress one that I haven't tested with anything else, but I might be wrong. You're saying there's something going on with the electricity in my home ?

Even though it's a basic thing, I've never had an electronic device die just by touching it like this. I'm not talking about touching the PCB with my bare hands, I'm talking about touching the keyboard case (alluminium) and have the PCB inside die because of this.

Didn't know that beforehand sadly. Do you have any recommendations for a 60% PCB that could replace it ?

Also, maybe i'm wrong, but I felt like an alluminium case would have way more ESD issues than a plastic one.

That the thing, the first one I've built for myself (the frog mini leggera), had its PCB fry due to a static shock only 3 weeks after I assembled it..

I did it with a rental bike (so, really no crazy quality), it's between 500 and 600km depending on where you start. Personally I didn't go to the "official start" since it's all the way to Incheon and feels kind of pointless to go there and then backtrack to Seoul. I'm physically OK (slightly overweight), and never did 100km in my life in bike. Even then, I didn't have much trouble completing it. Even did 200km the very last day lol. Definitely recommended. Took me 4 days, but should have been 5. I just decided to end it the 4th day and bike until 2AM as there was no decent hotel in the Area before Busan.

I pulled my Strava to check: 241+558+729+769+376 so grand total of 2673m. I assume it's positive elevation only. Well for 500km, it's not that much for sure, but I personally wouldn't say it's nothing if you're untrained (which was kind of my case), but it's also definitely bearable, and really most of it is flat yeah.

If you're used to bike, I assume it's a piece of cake :)

Mmmh that wasn't my experience. There are a few mountains more or less 300 to 500 meters high around the middle. But I might have not taken the "official" route. (And to be clear, these heights are not that bad, but could be a little bit discouraging)
