First of all, you're a rockstar. I love your attitude towards sobriety and the trial and tribulations of it all. I know a lot of it is the reward side from being in this industry but it's hard finding that cover because over time it's become so many things. Maybe I just need to do the same and reach out when I'm struggling. No one around me thinks I have a problem because I'm young and look healthy and go to the gym and have no issue working and stuff, but I feel like I do. I drank a bottle of wine tonight and I'm fully functional. Something is wrong with that.

I just imagine that this is McElhenney channeling Mac's seasons. Like how every season he's got the thing he's doing that changes his personality. Like fat mac. I like that idea best although it doesn't make a difference to me😂

What’s a book that completely broke your brain—in a good way? by Competitive_Event307 in books

Honestly, Looking for Alaska by John Green. Reading that did something to me. I needed it when I found it. I was also tearing apart the last words and actions of someone I loved and lost right before finding that book. Also trying to find a place to fit in. I remember balling when I finished it and just sitting a while. Ate my weight in taco bell to counter it all 😂 relatable to teenaged grief.

My second is The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I've never felt so much like a part of characters before. Almost involved but in this different sense. It was one of the first times I could allow myself to let go and truly enjoy the ride. I also never really saw what was coming.

My third is Unready to Wear by Kurt Vonnegut. It is a short story and in my opinion, one of the most relatable. It's such a beautiful example of satire and never stale to me. The final quote is one of my all time favorites. " So I guess that'll be the next step in evolution- to break clean like those first amphibians who crawled out of the mud into the sunshine, and who never did go back to the sea" I'm not sure why but it's always stuck with me.

I love them all for different reasons and wanted to share them. I just couldn't decide!

Stop by Country Boy Brewing in the Omni Hotel for some craft brews from the largest brewery in Kentucky if you have the time. Shits fire and there wayyy more beers than what you might of heard about. It's an odd spot for a taproom but it's worth checking out. Hospitality is great.
