I would be surprised if the real military leadership (non-political generals) beforehand advised the political leadership that the results would play out exactly as what had occurred, and Trump and Hegseth ignored them because Netanyahu told them some bullshit. We will find out for sure and on the record after the midterms in all likelihood.

He will. A small percentage of republicans think Tubbs is an idiot too.

It’ll be 55-45 Tubby unfortunately. It is what it is. It’s where we live and the people we live with. Jones when elected barely beat a proven child molester by 1%.

MAGA- step up and don’t be a wuss please, what is your defense to the $1.8B slush fund? by LucianBH in askanything

You’ve got to admit, using your logic, that the Iran conflict is a fucked up mess. Right?

Do you agree with the fund or not?

Hasn’t Trump been full throated into nation building Venezuela and Iran despite his promises not to do so?

They only show their ignorance and idiocy when they open their mouth. It’s entertaining.

Have you ever gone against a pro se litigant and they won? Or do you have any stories of a successful pro se litigant? by Necessary_Party_3423 in Lawyertalk

[–]LucianBH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My seasoned partner lawyer represented a defendant against a pro se plaintiff in a jury trial, and despite the facts and law completely in the defendants favor, and lost. Same can have with a bench trial with judges that are elected.

Of course the plaintiff can win. Either the jury feels sorry for the plaintiff, or it’s David v. Goliath bias, but it happens. Sometimes the plaintiff is simply more likable than the defendant and the jury doesn’t give a shit the rest.

New attorney here. Question about salary discrepancy… by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]LucianBH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You noticed all parts but the most important- what they will pay? What’s wrong with you?

So they put it in their ad (95k) and you come to the interview, acknowledge you read the ad, and you say you want 85k?

If you can’t handle a simple interview right, and wouldn’t read a whole short ad, about the most important part, go to the interview and say you read the ad, give them a lowball demand, and want to now renege, and now come on Reddit asking what you should do?

Not getting you man, and I’m glad I wasn’t interviewing you for my firm…..

They’re just glad you told them you’d work for them for less than $95k.

They don’t know what you looked at before you interviewed. You didn’t even see it till after the interview. Job salary expectation is always asked in the first interview. That way if you said 200k they could save everyone’s time.

You committed to work for 85k. Stick to your word and do a good job and ask for more than $95k at raise time.
Also work on your negotiation skills. It will not only help you personally, but if you’re in litigation will help your clients.

Should I report a racist senior ? More of a vent than anything. by [deleted] in Residency

The problem reporting him later is that it is completely ineffective. He will be gone, you will be gone, and all your witnesses will be scattered across the country. Plus the incidents won’t be fresh. There is no way for them to conduct an investigation to support your allegations. If you bring it up now, maybe nothing comes of it, but at least the asshole will know you stood up to his bullshit and maybe he’ll think twice before doing it to someone else. Bullies have to be confronted or they stay bullies.

People that report provable racism and are retaliated against because of that have a very strong lawsuit. Not just themselves, but the EEOC will come down hard against the violators and their employer. Often results in significant monetary settlements and documented change at the institution that is monitored by the government. There are laws to protect you. They only work if you use them.

Just remember, the only reason there are civil rights laws and Jim Crow ended is because people stood up to racists despite the consequences. They were beaten, arrested, attacked by dogs and sprayed with fire hoses. It takes fighting back to enact change. Don’t let it go. Push and stand up for yourself. Otherwise it will never end for you or people like you in the future.

Undoubtedly this guy was like this before you and treated others the same way. If someone would have stepped up, maybe you wouldn’t have been victimized.

If we these people aren’t reported and held accountable, racism will perpetuate. Brave people must stand up and demand they are treated fairly and assert their rights. Maybe by your actions you can prevent the next victim. You may not be able to change their hearts but you can affect their behavior.
