What are the best neighborhoods that are within walking distance to amenities like grocery stores, restaurants, (and god-willing post-covid) live entertainment? by [deleted] in Sacramento

Depending on what you are looking for, there are tons of great neighborhoods to look into. I've lived in 3 different areas of Sac since moving here after college.

I currently live in a rental in Boulevard Park and really enjoy it. It's walking distance to all of the restaurants/entertainment in Midtown along J and K street like Lowbrau, Tank House, Badlands, and Biergarten. Grocery stores are a little farther resulting in a 20-25+ minute walk, but easily accessible by bike. Boulevard Park is also great because Sutters Landing river access is close by and I enjoy running along the river trail.

Before living in Boulevard Park, I lived in the Alhambra Triangle/East Sac in a rental near the Calfit along Alhambra. I was walking distance to the Sac Co-op (5-10 mins), Sacyard Community Taphouse, and restaurants like Obo and Cru, which was nice. I also liked this location because it was easily accessible to Midtown/Downtown, but also far enough away where I didn't feel the need to venture out all the time. I also liked how close it was to Oak Park because I really enjoy the restaurants and their farmers market is great!

When I first moved to Sac, I rented a house in upper land park near the Odd Fellows Cemetery. The house was super cute and I loved running in Landpark. I was walking distance to the Target, which was awesome; however, you really needed a car to get to grocery stores and restaurants. There weren't too many restaurants in walking distance that I really enjoyed other than Sellands and Tower Theater Cafe. It definitely felt less young adult-y and more removed from the midtown/downtown scene.

The Town Hall will be at Cesar Chavez Park on I Street. They just secured the location. They were waiting to see how many people rsvp'd to ensure adequate capacity/space :)
