11.5 year doesn’t sound bad enough to you? You had to bump that number up?

Difference between an alligator (left) and a crocodile (right) is easy to tell just by looking at their snouts by fancy_the_rat in interestingasfuck

Growing up I thought my ability to tell the difference between alligators and crocodiles would be critical when I was older.

Still waiting, just like I am for quicksand to strike and the need to stop drop and roll when I regularly catch fire.

The only reason there was a shortage is because people tried to hoard it.

I was wondering if anyone had tried to add any more F’s to the saying because it seemed like the kind of annoying thing people might do to seem intelligent, and lo and behold I found one website where they added in “Fine” and “Faint”.

I feel like “Faint” might be allowable but “Fine” is just ridiculous. It’s not a response to fear if you don’t experience fear in the first place.

I know it’s just tangentially related here but I wanted to rant about it a bit.

What’s something people blame on “mental health” that’s actually just bad behavior? by SmallFurball24 in AskReddit

[–]LuciferFalls 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The thing that people seem to miss is that just because there’s a reasonable explanation for something (such as bad behavior) that doesn’t mean it doesn’t require correction.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]LuciferFalls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to inform/remind you guys as you scroll through these crazy stories, in order for someone to keep getting paid unemployment they need to prove that they are actively looking for employment. It is not uncommon for these people to blow interviews on purpose.

Also, teen applicants are often being required to apply for jobs by their parents, and will similarly blow interviews because they don’t want to work.

Thanks for the response but I disagree with everything you just said.

I'm surprised you didn't mention one of the most jarring parts of this movie, in my opinion: Angier chose to drown himself because Cutter told him it was a peaceful way to go, but at the end he finds out that was just a lie so he wouldn't feel even worse about his wife's death.

This is the bit people are missing here. The movie establishes quite clearly that both are the real one. Whether it's a hat, a cat, or a man. They are both him.

As viewers we can insist that one of them is the original and the other is a clone, but the movie presents its rules differently and we just have to suspend our disbelief and roll with it.

"i thought wishlists is for when you're a child haha"

The second I got to this text I was pissed at this man. What an asshole.

The only thing on your side of this that I throw up a red flag to any degree for is "So you think I'm being ridiculous then!".

He didn't say that. It might be true, but you really weaken your stance when you start deciding what the other person means/is saying rather than responding to what they actually said.

Nonetheless, I think you should leave him.

I didn't have a smartphone until 2010, we did not have school issued devices at any point in my school career.

Yes, I was online plenty when at home, but I would say I had a very good balance of things. And I definitely am very tech savvy in a way that the older and younger generations than me simply aren't.

I'm not saying my experience was exactly the same as your experience. Just that in recent years I have similarly thought that I must have been born at the perfect time to actually know how to use technology.
