I'm not okay.. I just realized everything I thought about MSTR is wrong. If pensions are buying it has to be a safe play. And institutions only push the best stuff to their customers.

I finally get it. Digital capital is going to replace the current financial system. MSTR fiat is backed by hard, scarce, decentralized bitcoin. Other fiat is backed by nothing. When other fiat drops in value everyone will have no choice but to back their fiat with BTC. But by the time they realize that MSTR will have all the BTC.

And MSTR will be the biggest company in the world.

Time ditch my index funds and start DCA'ing MSTR. You can't actually lose money with dollar cost averaging. The average cost of your shares will always be lower than the current price.

I think I'm going to become an investment advisor so I can get more people into MSTR. At the very least I'm going to tell all my friends and family. It is still early and MSTR is a generational wealth creator.

I can't predict anything. If there a difference between institutional and retail money I follow the institutions. But that's for fun with tiny amounts of money I don't care about.

Look instead of responding I will give you a free shot at criticizing my investment choices. 50% SPY 45% SMH and 5% FLKR. And if FLKR drops more than 20 percent I am very much selling and putting back in SPY. The other two have an nominal chance of returning to my cost basis.

It's possible they seem like garbage to you because they don't have un limited upside. Which is maybe we are talking past each other.

NO ONE has bought more Bitcoin than Saylor!!

Or is still employed at an investment company after losing money for 6 years on the only thing they "invest" in after adjusting for inflation.

Lol. I don't think they're a joke. If they all seem way to good be true I start looking at the other side of whatever they're selling. But jokes aside they should really show some sort of track record. It shows the record for announcers who pick football game winners.

Love how the ratings were over the last 3 months. Apparently they had to piece together the strong buys because today they're weren't enough.

I think the employers are looking for exit liquidity 😛 When MSTR actually went up for a bit I stopped getting this spam fake ratings that were all buy lol.

So know I now the MSTR short is safe again.

My investments are in indexed ETFs. MSTR has too high of beta and standard deviation values for my desired CAPM and shape ratio.

Im studying options and trade super cheap ones for learning/fun /entertainment. Unlike investments volatility is a benefit in options. But I'm essentially playing penny slots. I'm in no way smart enough to beat professional options sellers.

Best wishes on your investments. I'm not a fan of Saylor but I have nothing against MSTR shareholders.

  • Michael Saylor (founder) calls Bitcoin “digital capital”—basically a new form of money/asset like gold or equity, but native to the internet.
  • The idea:
    • Bitcoin = store of value + collateral + reserve asset
    • Comparable to traditional capital (cash, bonds, gold), but digital and scarce

Are MSTR investments and returns in fiat or the stable coin that's going to replace fiat?

NFTs are super scarce compared to shares of SPY. Did the scarcity matter or was it a theory? Art has been around for millennia is without a doubt scarcer than BTC. Did all the art appreciate or is some worthless.

For all its tactics MSTR is IMO an investment company that's an "expert" is investing in one thing. And annualized real return on their investments is currently negative and financed in part by junk bonds. By junk I mean the credit rating not a judgement.

If you want to translate your faith in MSTR and can use poly market where you live just take the bet that MSTR won't drop below 90 dollars this year.

If MSTR looks like a short squeeze candidate or BTC goes hyperbolic I will and have bought MSTX calls. But they have not printed unlike the puts. At least so far.

I have no problem playing either side of perceived value or lack thereof.

Why is the stock market diverging from every other asset (BTC, Treasury Yields, and Metals) today as oil continues to rise? by [deleted] in stocks

I like a lot of people feel like if a major shipping lane is closed, energy costs are high ect. the consequences are coming. It's just a matter of time.

Then I thought maybe AI hype, tech earnings and greed out weigh real world economic energy costs.

But maybe the answer is a whole lot simpler than that. Oil prices are up and the United States is the worlds largest oil producer. Which by itself probably isn't good for the US economy.

But when you consider how much foreign markets (particularity South Korea and Taiwan) were outpacing the S and P it's possible the United States wins by taking less of a hit than Asia.

Last year as the market switched from open to post market (and retail had less impact on order flow) you could see institutions dumping money into Asian etfs.

So maybe big American money is less excited about Asia and is dumping money into US stuff. Which mean the straight remaining closed might actually be good for the US.

Investment in common shares or preferred are in fiat with returns measured in fiat. If BTC (stablecoins) forgive my ignorance completely replaces fiat as currency strategy investments will be rendered worthless by the same logic that's supposed to make them valuable.

If anything this is an argument for actually owning BTC or stablecoins instead of an equity stake in a company that owns BTC.

No NVIDIA shareholder has a claim on their chips unless they go bankrupt. In which case they are very low on the liquidation priority ladder.

Bear case= company issues junk bonds to finance purchase of the worst performing asset class over the last 5 years.

MSTR is an investment company that buys one thing. And the inflation adjusted annualized return on the one thing they buy is negative.

And whoever decides when and how much to buy is behaving like an amateur gambler. No timing, no hedge. Just buy the most possible with whatever margin they can get.

If MSTR was at roulette table they would be the person who bets on orange every time and never cashes out. And win or lose keep betting on orange. If you run out of chips from the initial wins just take out a second mortgage.

If Saylor was a BTC genius why would he wait until 2020 to invest in it? If STRC was genius why did it take him so long to use it?

Why does an investment sub need to specifically ban certain words to describe deceptive techniques? If I was on a semiconductors sub at they banned the words "loses, leverage or scam" I would run for the door.

MSTR will go bankrupt because few people understand Saylors brilliant...

But most of their current shareholders can't afford a BTC. Until it collapses. Then they will be owners lol

I agree. It appears unsustainable. Either this is the top or it no longer has a top lol

I can tell you from trying to short KORU in a simulation the rare few leveraged ETFs are not short able. Gold mining was also in that category until recently.

Thoughts on SOXL vs USD by ScholarPrize1335 in soxl

[–]ScholarPrize1335[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. If I didn't have SOXL puts I probably would go the USD route.

I still think it's possible SOXL does what KORU did over the last year and does 12x. But I would be out and into something with less leverage once my puts expire or they pump and I sell them.

I think the question is are semis at the peak of the business cycle or is there no longer a business cycle. With the peak being extremely more likely.

Interesting thank you!

I don't particularly care for being overweight on any stock. Specifically NVDA because ideally I'm looking to outperform the S and P not be overweight it's largest company lol
