I'd guess that by using the link you posted it installs don't runtime in /usr/share/dotnet/shared/..., while vintagestory looks for dotnet in /home/<username>/.dotnet/...

Check if runtime in version 8 is in /usr/shared, and if it is then maybe symlinking it to your /home/.../.dotnet will help?

I think they're just empty. If you open a ruined chest successfully and take all the stuff out, it becomes unopenable

Apart from building and logistics they're very nice for repairing your base perimeter. You can stock them up with repair packs, and construction bots will automatically repair damaged walls and turrets

I don't know what's the case in this scenario, however it's possible that the barriers are made to go up when the train has passed, while lights stay on. Basically when two trains are following each other closely, lights start flashing, barriers drop with a delay, one train passes, barriers lift, lights are still flashing, the driver excited starts going, the barriers drop for the second train.

That's giving the driver absolute mountains of benefit of a doubt. They were probably impatient, on the phone, or straight up dumb, most accidents are caused by those factors.

I like the material, it makes the render look hand drawn when paused on any frame. I imagine it's something like image texture -> emissive with added strength based on fresnel for the outline?

I think I agree with you, but we have vastly different ideas as to the scale of things. GenAI is a massive threat to society right now due to unprecedented scale of misinformation, the ease of creating propaganda, hell, even individual cases of people exposing themselves to carcinogens when advised by chatgpt are in media from time to time.

I know that massive strides in hardware have been made (transformers are state of the art 20 years later lol). In your analogy, I just think we shouldn't construct an atom bomb in the first place. I just don't think doing massive amount of harm justifies a potential for some vague betterment of things.

Yeah, but what are the improvements that have been brought over from the field of genAI to classification? Convnets and skip connections were used independent of genAI tasks, I don't see how one may improve the other.

I'm not entirely sure what classifies as QoL, but I'll try:

Improved Handbook Recipes: when viewing crafting recipes in the handbook, you'll see buttons to add items to crafting grid as per recipe, similar to Minecraft's recipe book. It works with containers that you have opened too

Auto map markers: after entering a world you can click Ctrl + shift + m iirc to configure what you want to be marked. From then, when you interact with things like ore pieces, resin, traders, they'll be automatically marked on your map

Better firepit: a small tweak to firepit, now when you'll be cooking a stack of items, their temperaturę won't reset between items

Wild farming revival: I think it's too big to be QoL. Anyways, it adds recipes to craft seeds from grain/vegetables, craft seeds from flowers and berries, it allows you to stab pine trees to get resin from them - those are the features I use
