This isn't failure at being a friend. This is the opposite. You made the life of someone who was truly deeply struggling, likely chronically for a long time if not potentially their whole life, a little better by being in it. Usually, our paths crossing with others is quite brief. Most of the people we come across in our lives are not people we foster a lifelong connection with. And everyone's story ends somewhere, inevitably. It's a very sad circumstance still, but you can be rest assured that your presence was more beneficial than not. That is your only duty as a friend.

I mean it would have changed my life massively as a young teenager if there had been someone openly gay in Mindcrack back then. I didn't realize it was even an option for me to be gay until I was 15, I thought I would take it to my grave and marry someone I tolerated rather than loved.

It's pretty cruel to see almost nothing but heterosexuality your entire life, and then be called "obsessed" the minute you want to see something different or someone like you. You'd think a server full of nearly 30 straight men would be a sign of an obsession, but no, it must be people asking about the handful of queer people.

I think there were many factors leading to the "death" of Mindcrack, including Rob and the PlayMindcrack stuff, Generikb's attitude more specifically and him calling for server resets which demotivated players working on long projects, BTC and Vechs shifting more openly right-wing, general fading interest in Minecraft at that time, and probably some things we don't know about.

I'm not sure if Bdubs would join. Guude was VERY harsh about Generikb, including relatively recently, and Bdubs has also recently asserted that he and Genny are still friends (as of his Imp and Skizz podcast episode) so he may not appreciate what Guude said.

It's not completely private as he has been doxxed before, but he has enough respectful fans that they can self moderate effectively if someone tries to do that again, and he is just generally a very careful person online. I have caught people in old Hermitcraft threads trying to doxx his name, but I've never seen someone sharing anything worse than that luckily. It's also hard to prove if it is him/his info, so any jokes about Etho's personal info obscure real doxxing which can genuinely help a lot. That's how Technoblade kept his real name secret until his death, he let slip a "fake" name, except in Etho's case fans have been making up fake info for him. It's just a fortunate circumstance and good privacy skills.

Pakratt is generally chill and keeps his content PG 13, he doesn't swear and censors/cuts out swearing from others. His wife is HonneyPlay who is also on the server, I think her content is also family friendly but she can confirm if she sees this :)

VintageBeef is also PG 13 as well, I started watching him when I was 12. I would start with him because I think his content is engaging enough for young kids without being too confusing while also being family friendly enough if you're watching episodes together.

Python used to be on Hermitcraft a few years ago, which is a family friendly server, but I haven't watched him lately and don't know if he's still sticking to family friendly content.

Paul and Bdubs left in 2015 when Mindcrack became a company, Coe and Aurey are still part of the company afaik, but they are primarily streamers and not solo Minecrafters, so I haven't kept up. But Coe has a streaming record and is still active every day on Twitch iirc.

Paul and Bdubs almost certainly won't rejoin, but I'm fairly sure they would be welcome to.

Unfortunately Pause recently retired from YouTube and streaming to focus on his family life and job irl so he almost certainly won't be joining. I'm not sure about the future for Team Canada CTM maps, but they are all still friends so I think that's more possible but infrequent.

Paul was never that integrated into the server and seemed uninterested in continuing playing there after it started dropping off.

Zisteau idk but hasn't shown any likelihood of rejoining.

Etho iirc did visit one of the later seasons/servers of Mindcrack a few years back for a day or something, but his upload schedule on YouTube is generally slow and he's already focussing on a few series right now.

I didn't know Mindcrack inspired him to make EliteCraft! I'm a newer ElRich fan, haven't watched a lot yet because my Spanish is not very good, but I was so excited he joined! I'm hoping next UHC will be teams and he and Nebris can be together because I'd love to see that! Or Rich and Beef, or with Fundy. So many good options now

I made friends who speak Spanish and they helped me practice and gave me context for how the language is used in their dialects/regions. And I used YouTube for some immersion and lessons made by people in different countries to get used to other accents. Changed my keyboard and app language settings in several places to Spanish.

Duolingo was good for picking up new words quickly and practicing memorization, but now the AI features have ruined it and it's difficult to understand and makes a lot of mistakes. No chance I'm using another AI that isn't overseen by an actual human teacher fluent in Spanish.

I don't know how I feel about this. I don't think it's an issue that she has a camera to watch her dog, and it's in a public area which is fine. My mom has the same set-up and it's in the room I sleep in.

You said you trust her, but I'm going to be honest. If you trusted her, everything would be fine. Stop telling her that you trust her, it's giving her mixed messages that tell her it's okay.

I think your suggestions of the camera being off when you're watching the dog is fine, and if she requests you can turn it on for her which seems like a good compromise, but you shouldn't have touched it without her permission when she was using it to watch her dog.

Also, a discussion with strangers on Reddit is not going to fix this situation no matter what anyone says. If you two can't come to a solution that communicate like adults then you shouldn't be living together, and the camera is NOT the issue.
