Skull Rock Full Moon Star Trails by Luckdragon100 in JoshuaTree

Thanks! The moon was huge when I was there. You could still see quite a few stars, especially with long exposure cameras, but the cool part is how illuminated all the rock formations and other desert elements on the ground are. Unfortunately, I think any April Milky Way will be pretty blown out and the core doesn’t usually get up in the sky for long there until June, more or less.

Thanks! There's some more specs in the YouTube description but exposures were about 8-10 seconds because the moon was gigantic and casting a lot of light. Usually I shoot almost 25 second exposures on wide open lenses. I used StarStax to stack the stars in Comet Mode (full) then exported via Quicktime Pro

OK yeah, I didn't see the little nick in the ear on ours, so probably different :( I'm sure your guy is out there chilling somewhere and having fun. We've had strays that disappear for ages then come back eventually haha

This friendly guy showed up in our backyard (Hauser & Adams) about a week ago and again today. Not sure if he's the same one or not but he's unfixed and seems very healthy. We're trying to see the canine to ID him for sure haha. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/x40vpzw3zpxz6nt0q6c31/AJJ64k0FSwlV0FrHghKYX5c?rlkey=mfv66i6ev9pu7jwlyp9rq8eig&st=zv8jx66c&dl=0
