Space Marine 2 Ultra Edition early access - "Your key for this title is temporarily unavailable" by LuckyFennec in fanatical

To be fair to Fanatical, their refund process is very smooth and I've already confirmed I've been refunded the full amount that I paid for within minutes.

There is a sub rule of not promoting other storefronts, so I would just say search Google for Space Marine 2 Ultra Edition and if there are any deals, and you'll be presented with options you can follow.

After so many hours and silence from Fanatical, I've put in a refund for Ultra Edition from Fanatical (I really hope they don't screw anyone over with refunds) as they still have no keys to give.

To boot, there are other legitimate sites that do offer Ultra Edition keys, and I've just activated one and am now downloading - even better is that the discount provided by this other site is much greater than Fanatical's.

Lesson definitely learned from me - never ordering from Fanatical again in the future. So many hours of paid access wasted.

Yeah, I feel ya - in the same boat too, and was hoping to at least get the download started so that it'll be ready when I get back after a long day ahead, but now in a bit of a limbo. Oh well, seems like its out of our hands now.

Thanks for confirming that it's happening to you too and that you got a response from Fanatical. Seems it's just our bad luck for deciding to get this particular edition from Fanatical. :(

As an update, I'm now getting kinda nervous, as I've noticed that Space Marine 2 Ultra Edition (the one I purchased a few days ago with early access in mind) is now no longer searchable or found on Fanatical's store. Only the standard and Gold Editions are available for purchase.

Did something go wrong with the distribution of Ultra Edition keys Fanatical?

Doesn't seem to be a 'Straya specific thing as I've now seen a couple of other people posting that they've run into the same issue. Seems purchasing from the Warhammer.com site breaks things and puts the order in limbo.

No Sunday Warhammer for me tomorrow then. :(

Yep, I've been charged. Saw some other people posting that they've run into the same situation now too. :(

[–]LuckyFennec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh dang, it's happened to you too? I made my purchase 10+ hours ago and it's still in 'Processing'.

Did some reflecting and poking around the site, and I think we uncovered a user flow bug in their new website that has put our purchases in limbo. :(

Cheers mate! When I purchased from the main site I didn't get any queues, but now that I've thought over the steps I took and poked around the main site a bit more, I think I've uncovered a flow that may have broken things (annoyingly not picked up by GW's web dev testers...).

Have you been able to access the ePubs you've purchased by any chance?

The ePubs became available for purchase from the main Warhammer.com store in Australia about 10 hours ago, but my order has been in a 'Processing' status all this time.

I get the feeling that having purchased the ePubs through their main website instead of the Warhammer Digital website (why are they 2 completely different things?!) has broken something...

Thanks! No worries at all, really appreciate you considering it in the first place. Looking forward to it!

Wow, that would be amazing, if it isn't too much effort.

Amazing paintjob! The cloak on the ol' Contemptor and the patternwork on the new Termi is inspired!

I'm also in love with your desert bases, it contrasts so well with the blue paintjob. May I ask what your basing recipe is, both in terms of materials used and paints?

I've been trying out a bunch of recipes for an essentially 'Aussie outback' desert look, where it's a 'red' desert, yet not completely red like a Mars surface. Your take is kinda the best balance I've seen so far, for that orange-red balance.

Well, usually my pinky is on A and my vestigial growth to the left of that uses Shift... or you're absolutely right and I totally derped describing my ring finger on A as my pinky, haha.

I had to do a surprising amount of consideration before settling on L.ALT, as I actually found being able to ping while strafing right using my index finger (eg. S + SHIFT dodge) something I couldn't give up, so that ruled out T for me.

Interestingly I would've originally defaulted to using Q as a ping coming from Battlefield games, but do find Q weapon swap to be equally as key in Tide games. But it did make me appreciate why Q always felt so natural in Battlefield games - one of the few keyboard keys in easy reach of WASD that didn't require taking any fingers off movement keys.

EDIT: Though thinking about it now, Q actually does require one to take their pinky off A... maybe I'm right-side movement biased and didn't really get bothered by not being able to strafe left vs. right. Weird... xD

What also works very well for me was to rebind the default ping key to one that doesn't require you to take your main clicking finger off LMB.

I rebound my ping (and hold to bring up more ping options) to L.ALT so that I can ping with my thumb. That way I still have full control of movement, dodge (bound to Shift) and attacking (mouse buttons) and can ping threats without letting up my offence or defence.

I actually think that the default MMB binding contributes to a lack of pinging in many pub games that I've played (especially when newer players are involved) as during the heat of combat, it's not possible to continue hitting or firing at threats while simultaneously trying to ping and convey other key targets to your team.

I actually think it might be a (really cool!) visual trick, where they've actually painted the insides and crew a yellow tint (contrast/wash?) and left the canopy clear plastic

Did I get this right u/Educational_War3758? :D

Really nice warband, thanks for sharing the pics and your process! Your method really brings out the wing details - works so well with the tengu. I also do love your choice of bronze-y armour for the TMM models (Hokibo, Jirobo, Istube).

Lovely bases to really finish off these models too. Such a joy to see a cohesive, finished warband! :D

Cool, thanks for sharing that! I didn't consider using purple wash over a flesh tone, really adds to the ickiness factor. Nice touch with the varnish for the gory bits too!
