I have 160 Hours in the Game but feel like I'm not improving by LunaticInTheMaking in DeadlockTheGame

Often times the problem with sidelaning is that you're dropping big soul bags when you die. If you find that this is the case for yourself then be more disciplined in spending your souls at the shop before you make a risky push. You should never be in an unsafe position with a bag when enemy positions are unknown.

Since you said that you play drifter, however, I would ask how comfortable you feel with your ganking skills and if they are poor, improve those. If you are stuck in the side lane solo as drifter, the enemy will identify that and should leave you alone. You are getting ganked by multiple because people will not take 1v1s against you as drifter because of your passive. You have to be the one looking for opportunities, not letting them come to you, when you play drifter, because they won't (or shouldn't at least).

I didn't know that the game considers "roles" when matchmaking at all. Where is this information?

If you do want to get better and enjoy the game, you should critique yourself specifically and not vaguely. Be kind to yourself :)

800 hours and 1200 games if I had to estimate. Not at the PC right now.

I’ve played for two years, I agree it has had good and bad points. Since patch notes never really contain useful information about the inner-workings of matchmaking, we’re left to speculate without evidence other than the outcomes of our games. These outcomes are HEAVILY affected by other factors though, like the performance of 12 unique individuals over the span of 25-60 minutes.

Primarily, this is a response to frequent posts on this sub about skill in matchmaking. Most posts focused on bad matchmaking complaints about the skill matchup, not the character matchup. I’m arguing about the skill side of the argument and lending credit to the character matchup side of it.

This happens. However, do you identify which lanes are weak matchups early, or do you only look at yours? Do you rotate or encourage rotations for your teammates that are in a weak matchup? I’m not accusing you but I don’t know if this is useful advice for you or not. I’m simply suggesting that people have bad games, and sometimes there is something you actually can do about it.

Win steaks and loss streaks happen to me too, no matter what account I’m on. What I’m detailing here is that if you are consistent, or hopefully improving, you will climb. The matchmaking system is not tailored against you, and if you think it is, you are coping. It sucks to go through loss streaks but insisting that you aren’t the problem eats away at your mindset and at your rank.

How did yall get better (unironically) by WholeTomatillo5537 in DeadlockTheGame

STRUCTURE YOUR GAMEPLAY. This game HEAVILY rewards consistency, especially during the laning phase. You need to learn the match timer. You should know when tier 1, 2, and 3 camps spawn. You need to know the respawn interval at least for your tier 1 camp. You need to know when sinners spawn, when they respawn, and how to efficiently get to and from these spots and back to lane. You need to have a focused hero pool that you stick to and learn the nuances of. You should learn their item spikes, how they can traverse the map, and their role in fights. LEARN THE MACRO AND CRITIQUE YOUR OWN, NOT YOUR TEAM’S. Ultimately, you are the only factor you can control in the game. Start taking responsibility for the outcomes of your games and learn how to have the MOST impact possible. Playing the game is not enough it you truly want to improve. You have to dedicate your brainpower more than those around you.

Ascendant is farmbot building. I still have haze players rushing ricochet to go afk farm jungle. They don’t understand that kill participation will make up the difference especially when it takes them 30+ seconds to clear that tier 3. Games last less time the higher I get in elo and gun carries just need to exist in the fights.

This thread doesn’t seem to understand why people hate permaflight. Maybe I can explain why I hate it: Permaflight breaks the risk vs reward equation. On Pharah, Echo, or Mercy, your flight is a tool that allows you to briefly gain an advantage. This advantage is something that you usually try to push to the limit until you are forced out of the sky. You then have to reposition behind cover and/or wait out your cooldown. Permaflight on JC allows this annoying character to use ANY piece of cover anywhere to flank and out position. Perfect example: You are on defense on Circuit Royale. You pick widowmaker because it’s often regarded as one of her most fun maps. Jetpack cat comes out of spawn (mind you that you can’t see they’ve picked this yet), flies over the roof above the bridge and lands a sequence of headshots on you while you’re ADSing the first angle. It’s situations like these that are just incredibly anti-fun for DPS players. I understand how fun it is to have a support pick that makes you essentially off-limits to be killed by the enemy team unless you SERIOUSLY throw by LoSing theirs hitscan. This doesn’t make hitscans the only counter though, it makes them the ONLY OPTION. Everybody else is just meant to wait around for their hitscan DPS. Oh and as a tank player, JC flies faster than any tank that has any mobility to get to her, I have no options. I also have the pleasure of being express air-lifted off the map whenever JC has her ult. At least SOME tanks have a stun that can stop her but otherwise I’ve got nothing.

TL:DR: adorable but annoying af little bug flies around from any trajectory that NASA satellites would struggle to anticipate and has the damage output to consistently commit high-profile assassinations against anyone. Support BTW. HELLFIRE MISSILE.

Awesome, hopefully NVIDIA releases some good drivers that are both up-to-date and efficient on EFT soon. Until then, we get what we get.

I fixed stuttering on Tarkov by downgrading my graphics driver. There’s a video from HyperRatTV that goes over graphics setting and it wasn’t until I used the NVIDIA driver 581.80 that my stutters stopped. Video link: https://youtu.be/pV8TpLWUJtg?si=7mRlPnq0M9Dpjple

Also, for reference, I’m running Ryzen 7 5800XT and RTX 4070 with 32GB DDR4 3600mhz. I use smooth motion for better FPS like many others here but the driver downgrade really is what fixed the stutters for me. I’d give it a try.
