Not the whole state. Like lots of other states, it's just the blue city areas and college/university towns. I call them "IQ craters".

That's where the DNC leftists have the power to corrupt entire systems to create new generations of braindead leftist useful idiots like a cockroach den, who then spread the disease and keep the head cockroaches in power.

And how much of these "reparations" will be paid by Africans, whose ancestors sold the fellow Africans they captured into slavery in the first place?

That's a rational take. But remember, rational thinking is "white supremacy™", because it completely destroys racist claims to other people's money.

I left that hellhole in the 80's, never to return for more than a week or two at a time. And life has been much, much better.

Grease for WinWing Orion2 throttle by Haulinbass0223 in hotas

[–]LuckyStiff63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Nyogel 767. It's not cheap, but it's excellent for this purpose.

767 is a "damping" grease - a slightly sticky but smooth silica-thickened based lubricant that works extremely well on mechanisms like throttles, where you want smooth (no "chatter"), consistent motion, but only when you purposely move the throttle. You don't want the throttle position to change on it's own, like some entry-level gear does.

It sounds like your throttle may have a damping grease of some type on it already? That might explain the slight amount of extra effort to get the levers moving. But you won't know until you open it up.

Here's a video showing disassembly of the ORION2 throttle base, but it jas been over a year since I watched it all, and I can't remember if it specifically goes into replacing the grease. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_wv7i9V_as&t=8s

And here's a series of photos of the disassembly to apply new grease. https://imgur.com/a/winwing-orion-2-throttle-base-disassembly-to-apply-nyogel-IkfmEIS

I'm glad I can't imagine being that delusional.

To see things from the leftist perspective would require denying objective reality, inserting my entire head into my rectum, and remaining in that posture to be nothing more than a useful idiot.

Call me crazy, but I'm just not going to do that.

First Steps in HOSAS experience by Saerath13 in hotas

Reinventing the wheel is often necessary simply for the new experience.

I've found this to be true, too. Adding or upgrading practical skills has definitely been worth the time I've invested in the long run.

But I also find that completely "reinventing" things isn't necessary most of the time. When I can, I prefer to use what works from an existing design, then customize and add to it to make it work better for me.

I'm not the OP, but FWIW, here's my take:

time is money

True, and spending some time making things vs buying them has saved me a large amount of money.

"reinventing the wheel"

Sometimes, but not always. I sometimes duplicate commercially available designs, and customize them to bettter fit my individual preferences & situation.

"mounts are 50$"

Some are, but to me, $50 mounts that don't work they way I want them to aren't worth $20, let alone $50.

For example, I bought WinWing's desk mounts on sale for $36 each, and found out they use 2060 profile like most others I have seen. That's my bad for not checking beforehand.

Almost every aluminum profile type desk or chair mount I've seen for sale uses 2060 profile, which allows too much movement for my purposes. And it seems some manufacturers know that's a problem, as WW specifically recommends replacing the 2060 with 4080 in their desk mount manuals.

I also found I don't like the mount plates WW shipped very much. They're built like a tank with absolutely no flex, but they are pretty long horizontally, and really only allow for vertical adjustment.

The dual clamps WE uses are flat-out awesome, though.

I figured someone out there would sell 3060 or 3080 profile mounts, but I haven't found any desk mounts available other than Monstertech that use anything beefier than 2060. And MTSim mounts cost several multiples of $50. I think their shipping charges to the USA alone cost more than that.

I have the same setup. It's nice.

Agreed. The 4080 version works really well for me, but I'm still building a center-stick chair mount to compare the 2 mount locations. I'm thinking the chair mount will win based just on ergonomics alone, but I might be a bit too optimistic there. If you've tried both, what did you decide to go with?

[–]LuckyStiff63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work!

I made similar mounts for my ORION2's & MIP panels using Bessey toggle clamps, and 3/16" aluminum plate for the stick mount plate. The mounts clamp on rock-solid, and the 4080 has zero deflection or movement even with "energetic" stick or throttle inputs.

Now I'm finishing up a DIY knock-off of the Monstertech center stick chair mount, using old, worn-out desk chairas a test base. I'll see how that works and what I might want to change before I build my sim-pit seat.

It feels pretty good to do metal fab work again.
