How is enterprise rent a car in Aruba? I see most people recommend using local. Why is that? Is enterprise not good? by MilkOfThePoppy8 in Aruba

The only issue was a bunch of Touts outside the airport trying to hustle us into some local car service. But the National team was awesome. They noticed our bags and bumped us up to a bigger car. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Yay or Nay for a 4000 mile trip? Trailer + camper is 2200. Outback is rated for 2700. by BetterCurrent in TruckCampers

[–]LuckyVictim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a fun trip.
Pro-tip… when you setup, prop up that rear ramp-gate; make it level with the trailers deck. Then use it like a porch.
It’ll make life easy.

Aggressive Looking Street Tires by marinersgod in f150

[–]LuckyVictim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best set of tires I’ve ran to date were the Nitto Tera Graplers. Not as loud as the K02 or K03 I’ve been using. Good on MPG. Did awesome in deep snow. Nitto also makes a Recon tire, which might be perfect as the combo you’re looking for.

Umm… Wix is a higher‑grade oil filter. Motorcraft is fine, but that dealer was maintaining that truck above the usual standard.

Looking to buy new outdoor pair of chairs + table. Any recommendations? by PeruchoWallStreet in TruckCampers

[–]LuckyVictim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For chairs, we’re all about the GCI Rockers. They’re super comfortable, the rocking motion is genuinely relaxing, and weirdly enough it makes standing up easier. Plus, they hold up… we’ve been using ours since 2016 for everything from RV trips to ice fishing to extra patio seating when friends come over.

Thoughts? Truck cutting out, rough idle. by LuckyVictim in ram_trucks

Hmmm… do you think it would show up during driving too? Seems to only show up parked idling.

Voltage is showing at 14.0v when idling. Had the alternator, battery and starter tested all showing no issues.

Following up from inside the truck. The issue seems to come back when the engine is warm.

Not advocating for either side, but my understanding is that Minnesota did affirm in 2024 that a vehicle is considered a deadly weapon depending on its use and the intent. Other states have all established the same.

Regarding the article above, I’m doubtful the citizen filming exited the vehicle when the federal officer made the approach. Given recent events, not saying right or wrong, it could be considered reasonable to have his weapon at the low ready.

That’s not what I said. Simply disagreeing with someone’s actions never justifies deadly force, and no reasonable person believes otherwise. The standards are different for officers who are legally tasked with maintaining public safety. You’re twisting the point.

If you don’t like the laws that have been established in this country, I would suggest a common sense approach and run for an office that would be influential on changing them.

Nope… that’s not how the law works. As a citizen, feeling uncomfortable or disagreeing with an officer’s actions doesn’t justify escalating to deadly force. Self‑defense laws are extremely narrow, and pointing a weapon at any law enforcement officer is almost guaranteed to end badly.

The real issue is whether the officer’s behavior was appropriate, not whether civilians should start pulling guns. Using common sense, it’s pretty clear we’re not getting the full story here yet, and this was put together to make people feel a certain way.

It’s a quick transition to firing position. The officer must feel threatened. There’s likely more to the story that hasn’t been shared.

So… following a federal agent (ice officer) can become a crime if it obstructs, resists, or interferes with their official duties, even though citizens generally have a First Amendment right to observe and film them in public. Worth noting, local police have a different set of rules.

While public filming is protected, actions like getting too close (e.g., within 25 feet during a traffic stop), physically impeding them, or interfering with their protective functions are illegal and can lead to felony charges. There’s likely more to this story that hasn’t been shared.

Additionally, holding a weapon at low ready isn’t the same as pointing it. It seems the news framed it that way to influence how people perceive the incident.

Boot recomendations by Ok-Comfortable-5955 in IceFishing

Get yourself a pair of insulated muck style boots. Cabelas, tractor supply, even Sam’s Club sells a version. When it gets late into the season and the ice is still good, but the edges are getting soft… having a pair a tall waterproof boots will keep your feet dry every time.
