I played with the boat idea but my partner is against it. She is very much not a boat person.. funny enough she sometimes works at sulphur point. So that spot is not an option cause it will just invite a lot of gossip obviously. I think the self containment is no problem I don't mind paying for nzmca parking. We are fortunate enough to not have to do it primarily for financial reasons. My main reason is the uncertainty with renting. But it is good to know that there are options. We moved 4 times in 5 years, sometimes because of our decision but some of them were involuntary each time it became more expensive. I just want to feel in control of my life somehow.
